"Film surpasses the book, but I still enjoyed it!"

My LOVE of the film brought me to this story. Had I never seen the movie I still would've enjoyed this story. But the movie is one of those very rare cases where the conversion to film exceeds the richness of the written word. This a great story and I encourage you to buy this work and see the film, I'm happy I have!

    "Excellent"
Where does Rudyard Kipling rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was first introduced to this story line by the Movie starring Sean Connery and was pleased to find that it was closely scriped with the book.
The book was better and I throughly enjoyed the imagry and conversational tones which were excellently portrayed.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rudyard Kipling?

Near the end how the main character displayed courage, honor and a depth of character.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, though a poignant portrayal of greed, insensitivity to developing conditions and the source of good fortune, it was funny in parts, sad in others. But through it all at the end of the day men can rise above themselves.

    "Superbly Presented Classic"

Considering the waste of lives and treasure spent trying to conquer Afghanistan, this tale is as valid as it was 100 years ago.

It's almost embarrassing to to hear the naive tale and learn of the tragic ending.
