From the experience of her own difficult pregnancy, MTV star Jenny McCarthy has fashioned the best-selling pregnancy/childbirth book of the last several decades. A delightful mixture of raw humor and serious advice, Belly Laughs tells you what you can really expect when you're expecting. Every imaginable topic related to pregnancy is covered, including whole chapters on morning sickness ("Barf-O-Rama"), cellulite gain, baby kicks, dreams, water retention, hot flashes, cravings, premature labor, Lamaze ("Breathing for Dummies"), and more - much, much more.

"Like a gossipy girlfriend, McCarthy brings you in and makes you laugh; there's a certain comfort in knowing that even a sex symbol gets stretch marks and balloons to 200 pounds during pregnancy. A must-have for any childbirth collection." (Booklist)
"Humorous, Light and Educational"
I was skeptical when I bought this book but I was pleasantly surprised. Jenny McCarthy is funny and I needed a funny book. The other pregnancy books I read left me nervous about having a child but this book took all of the fear away although she is very detailed with the pregnancy process. Jenny's humorous approach helped me not have fear and see things in a lighter and more manageable way. Plus the narrator is good too so it was a pleasant read.
Great book.
An avid reader, who also loves to listen.
"Surprisingly good"
Thinking of Jenny McCarthy I didn't expect much out of this book but gave it a try anyhow and as it turned out this was one of the better pregnancy books that I have listened to. And while I wish Jenny McCarthy would have narrated this book then again maybe it's good that she didn't as she can be pretty annoying.
Noah is my husband. My name is Jennifer. I love audible so much. It has changed the way I enjoy books! :)
"Belly Laughs"
One thing that really bothers me about celebrity 'biography' type books is when they do not narrate the book themselves. I mean really? I listened to another of Jenny McCarthy's books - that she did not narrate - and was very disappointed. The only reason I purchased this one is because I'm pregnant and a girlfriend of mine recommended it. It has some honest truths about pregnancy that you may not find in other books, but I found the narrator obnoxious.

"No laughs in my belly"
It wasn't funny at all. I'd heard that it was funny, being a mother of two I looked forward to reading these. The narrator was ALL wrong.
Sheryl Sandberg's book
She was way way too serious, wrong voice. Lacked humor and had a way of emphasizing what was supposed to be humorous so the listener would laugh. She failed. Miserably.
The narrator is probably all that should be cut.
GET RID OF THAT NARRATOR!!!!!! Jenny McCarthy should have read it herself.
"Fun for Pregnant Women"
This book is a great way to commiserate if you are pregnant. It helped me laugh at some of the things that are happening to me and told me about some of the things that might (it's my first pregnancy).
The narrator did a good job of reflecting Jenny's crass humor.
"loved it!"
I loved the audio version of this book! It only could have been better if Jenny McCarthy read it herself!
I loved getting to know Jenny McCarthy through this book. It make the book warm personable and comforting for another pregnant girl!
De Cuir did a great job reading McCarthy's book.
Loved so many parts in it and all the comfort and comedic relief that pregnancy often needs!
I would recommend it to any one not feeling perfectly at peace about all the uncertainties of pregnancy.
"Horrible narrator and not funny"
I think it would have been better if Jenny recorded it herself...the narrator was like an old woman so it didn't make a lot of sense. The story was stupid and predictable...I found it annoying and would not recommend it.
Record it herself.
Annoying voice

"Cute"
Jenny was cute and funny and you are able to relate to things she says and laugh. She lets you not feel guilty or weird about what you are feeling which was nice but I don't think she always takes the healthiest approach so I wouldn't follow all of her advice but she did make me laugh. A cute quick listen for the expecting.
