"Continues to Please"
Stephenie Meyer has created a world and characters that draw you in. It kept my attention and she always leaves you wanting to see what will happen next. Twilight was probable the best written of the three I have either read or listened to so far but Eclipse provided more action and tied together many of the subplots. The only thing I didn't like about listening to the book was the narration. I guess when you read a book you get a mental picture in your head of what the characters look like and what they sound like and having one person provide the voice for almost all of the characters at times was a little distracting. I like listening to books but in this case I started out reading the first two books then downloaded this one, so that might be the reason why I didn't care for the narration. Anyway it was a really good book and I would encourage anyone who liked the first book to buy this book. The sound quality was very good and when I downloaded it to my MP3 player I had not problems listening to it and the thing I really liked was the fact that it somehow bookmarks where I stopped listening so it picked right back up where I left off even if I skipped to music or a movie and then went back to the book.
"Twilight Series"
Stunning...I have had many late late nights lying in the dark beside my sweetie with earphones plugged in...I was completely captured by the story that takes place (from Forks to Italy) from the first few chapters of Twilight through New Moon & now Eclipse. My heart broke with Bella's and her pain reminded me of my own first love ended..I am completely entranced with the entire cast of characters in this series. Ms. Meyers has skillfully built so many fascets into each one that with very little imagination entire books could be written about each life...or should I say..life ended.. Hahaha!
2008? That is when the next book is due to be released? I, for one, cannot wait.
"I read the Book, and I got hooked!"
I loved the book, so I had to have the audio
"what is not to love...."
Although I read all the books I wanted them on audio as well, even though this book is my least fav of the 4 as I felt it was oh so drawn out, and Bella seemed be very weak and whiny in this book, the narration was great,I like the fact that Jacob caracter was narrated by a male voice. I had an easier time listening than I did reading it..
"Great story"
The love triangle keeps you hooked. I caught myself laughing a lot with the developing relationship between Edward and Jacob. It just keeps getting better and better. It is worth listening to the entire series. You will love them all. It is hard to pick a favorite. That goes for book and characters.
"Bizzarre Love Triangle"
I have been pleasantly surprised by this series. I never thought I'd get into a romance novel. Evidently if you add mythical monsters to the mix, I will fall for a cupid story.
This book finds our heroine torn between two loves: her true love and her best friend. Oh yeah, she has a vengeful vamp still trying to kill her; the threat of undead enforcers showing up to check on her status; and weird things are happening in Seattle. All of these things in the mix make this book hard to put down.
"Adult fan"
Love all her books. This one is a bit sappier in my eyes than the other 3 but I do so enjoy her ideas and flow. She writes eloquently and reads effortlessly. I read a novel a week and listen to one at same time and I have read and listened to her series.
"An excellent 3rd installment"
The Twilight series caught me by surprise in that it was a much better read (and page turner) than I anticipated, given its target audience.
I was traveling on business and needed a book to listen to on my long haul flight back to the States, this installment more than filled the bill. The characters continue to grow, the story is more compelling and builds extreme anticipation for the final installment - Breaking Dawn. The voice talent isn't necessarily the most skilled in doing different voices, but she's captured Bella well. All in all, a very fine installment that left me wanting more. A worthy purchase.
I'm trying to wean myself and learn to function without earbuds for more than ten minutes at a time. It hasn't been easy. I lose balance...
"almost embarrassing"
I'm gonna have to split the praise between the author and Ilyana's reading. But as much as I do love this series, and I really do, I am very afraid of the next one. The portion read by the male voice of "Jacob" was stilted and uncomfortable. It's a very small portion of this book though and I still highly enjoyed it. But I'm hoping it doesn't mean a change in readers for the next. Please don't do it. Ilyana is what makes the books come alive. Having said that, kudos to Stephanie Meyer for another brilliant teen romance that stays away from the trite nonsense of the typical vampire slushpile.
