This is doing her all kinds of good, until one day she makes the mistake of looking into the driveway of a man named Pickering. Pickering also enjoys the privacy of Vermillion Key, but the young women he brings there suffer the consequences. Will Em be next?

"Run, Em! Run!"
Fast-paced, primal and gratifying! Great to listen to during exercise, or chores, because it makes you hyper!
"Pretty good. Not what I expected."
I have been on a "King kick" lately. I am not necessarily a fan of horror, but Mr. King creates characters who are not only realistic, but corporeal. I read his books for his characters. This story was no different.
There were not ghouls or goblins in the sense of many of his other novels, but this one was still suspenseful. The human ghoul came out of nowhere, and I couldn't stop until I found what became of the Gingerbread Girl.
I also recommend Duma Key and Lisey's Story.
"On the Edge of the IPOD."
This heart pounding thriller which the is also located in the Florida keys (read Duma Key) kept me on the waiting until the end. My wife loved because it is so short.
So short attention span people and ADD people rejoice, this is the book for you!
"Rediscovering King"
Very enjoyable, fast-paced listen. King was one of my favorite authors in my younger years, but I hadn't read any of his books in awhile -- perhaps thinking I'd outgrown the supernatural themes. This book, however, was not about a supernatural force but a crazy and dangerous serial killer. King writes him well...as he writes everything well. It was a joy to rediscover King. His work has matured along with him, and his female character was well done. My only regret is that I couldn't put it down, and so the enjoyable two hours ended too quickly!
"Not Horror, but Great in All the King Ways"
Firstly, great title, Mr. King. Nextly, while the story board was unoriginal, the character and inner monologue of our protagonist was so well-hewn in that satisfying in that uniquely King way that the reader is, as always, quite unable to stop until the end. Not among his best, but I'll never turn down a King story.
"Gingerbread Girl Review"
I am a HUGE Stephen King fan. Great story. A little on the predictable side. I was disappointed with the ending, not quite a cliffhanger, but just sorta ended. Needed something more.
"Good Short Story"
I liked this story! Normally, I feel that Stephen King can be too "wordy". This was a good thriller. I enjoyed listening to it on my commute home.
"A good story throughout"
Sometimes King has a hard time keeping a reader interested through the entire book, but not with this one. This story was interesting in the beginning and exciting towards the end. A must listen for any King fan.
"Gingerbread Girl"
A nice straight forward drama, not the usual King build up or draw out. If I didn't know it was a King story to begin with I might think it belonged to someone else.
I have to wonder if he didn't just spend a length of time in the Florida keys since this is the second book that takes place there.
Well worth the read.
"The Gingerbread Girl"
Fantastic book. I didn't want to put it down, and with it being an audiobook, I didn't have to. If you like King, You'll LOVE this story. I had a connection with Em right from the start. I rate this 5 stars.
