Ray Steele is absolutely sure of just one thing, he does not want to take over the family business. Instead, he longs to become a pilot. On the other side of the world, Marilena Carpathia dreams of motherhood. Through genetic engineering, she is about to get her wish. But what she doesn't know is, the prince of darkness himself has chosen her as his vessel, and she is about to give birth to the greatest evil the world has ever known.

"Great Prequel"
Having read the rest of the Left Behind series I found this book great. It fills in the backgrounds of some of the main characters.
"Download this book"
I'd been listening to the left behind series. Most were the dramatized version and I fell in love with the characters. I didn't want the story to end, a testament to the character development, but truthfully the last book in the series was very disappointing. This book made up for it though. It was thoughtfully written, and the story of Nicholae's childhood was actually chilling. Good book.
"Surprisingly good."
Where the last few books of the original series slipped into a la-la land of forced solutions and spread out plotlines to fit the 12 book target, this book feels free of any "pace quota", and I hate to say it, but it's refreshingly dark. Carpathia & co. seemed like charicatures of evil -- Bond villains -- in the original series. Here it's as if the LB world has been re-imagined and the dark side given some teeth. Great litrature? Nope. A page turner... well a "keep-your-iPod-handy" kind of audiobook? Yep.
"This was better than I thought it would be."
I had my doubts about this book. I thought at first that it was a way for the authors to capitalize on the success of the original series. However, the stories were original and creative. I really enjoyed getting an understanding of the backgrounds of the main characters of the original series.
As for the audio, the narrator did a wonderful job keeping the flow, while not sounding monotonic. I also felt he did a commendable job of voice inflection for the characters.
"Excellent book"
This book didn't let me down...it was just as compelling as the books before it in the "Left Behind" series. You won't be sorry that you got this one. It is so action-packed, that I couldn't stop listening!
"Another great book form Tim Lahaye"
I injoyed this book so much I have listen to twice. With a 32 mile coumute it makes the time so injoyable
I am an educated Southerner, plowing through books at the speed of light. I love good stories, good coffee, and good conversation.
"Love the prequels!"
After reading the entire Left Behind series, I still had a lot of blank spots and questions left unanswered. This book was not only entertaining, but also very infomative, making the series richer than it already was.
"Naughty Nickie"
Fun and suspenseful history of Nicoli Carpathia... Great listening fun!
"You've got to be kidding me..."
What is it about these books? Bad theology and bad writing. Why are millions reading them? They are not GOSPEL. They are FICTION. And this one...could the hatred of that which is "other" be any stronger? These books promote hatred and harm, not the love of Christ.
