"Excellent Listen"
Great character acting - a fun, interesting story. The characters become very real. Feel like a great play. Nice to have a classic story told so well. I highly recommend it. A top listen.
"Narrator is great story is okay"
The narration of this story was great but I was a little disappointed with the book itself. I have read every Maddam Wickam and Sophie Kinsella book, and this one is missing the wit and humor to it. It's not horrible but it's not great either.
Hi all. I'm in my 50's (that's relevant, i think), and I favor fiction. I like the british sensibility, and was introduced to the Forsyte Saga through audible ... loved it! I happen to also like Chinese writers, but they are not well represented yet at audible. Looking to follow readers with similar tastes ...
"solid pre-shopaholic kinsella"
I liked this book ... it reminded me of Catherine Alliott, and would appeal to young and old(er). Good narration. Well worth the credit!
"Eh..."
Perhaps.
It inspired me to daydream...This books lost me about 5 mins in. I found myself daydreaming about winning the lottery after passing a MegaMillions billboard on the interstate. I even backed the track up and tried to get into it again, but I just couldn't. Maybe it was the narrator or maybe it was the story. Maybe it was my brain on that day, who knows.
It seemed like the summary about the book that I read before buying made it up to be better than it was. I finally gave up on it at Chapter 3.
"Fun listen - sweet story!"
The narration was excellent and it was an easy listen. It was not deep or extremely thought-provoking, but I didn't want to stop listening.
The whole mess of how the wedding played out.
She read at a great pace and brought so much life to the characters.
"not what i had expected"
this book is as good as the Shopaholic series. It is more believable and an enjoyable read.
i've enjoyed all of Madeleine Wickham/Sophie Kinsella's books.

"More Substance Than You're Expecting"
One of the things I liked most about this book was that you get to see the main characters when they are young, foolish, and care-free, and then ten years later when the demands of adulthood have all but suppressed their spirit. I also liked that while it's told in third-person, it moves from one character to another--so there is more than one protagonist.
This is one of those books where everything does not work out perfectly for the various characters. Wickham brings much more to the chick-lit genre than you'll find in your average romance novel. In fact, there are a couple of points in the novel when you might even get a little misty :)
"great book"
Could not put it down
Kept you guessing
When her sister got caught.
Twisted weddings
Love the narrator
"Another great one from Sophie/Madelieine"
Loved this book! I was a bit nervous because I really like sophie kinsella...didn't know what to expect from the style written as madeleine wickham...very happy I tried! I loved the story and thought it was a great plot.
"Very Funny"
I enjoyed this book--it is a nice departure from more serious books. Very fun and entertaining!
