"This book is BETTER than GOOD"
Perfect for getting back on track when you need some motivation!
"Excellent!"
This is a great book! Very instructive, encouraging, motivating and noble.
Fully recommended.
"pretty good"
Another inspirational work from Zig. This was not his best but its definately worth a listen.
"Excelent"
As always..great to listen to Zig Ziglar. Very inspiring.
"The Best Zig Book Yet !!!"
Over the years I have listened to many of Zig's books. This is by far the best.
"Very Encouraging"
I was very encouraged to read this book. Our frame of mind has a lot to do with the decisions we make and the things we do. I was great to get some reminders of what I can do to improve my outlook. Very practical.
"a surprise"
I'd heard the name of Zig Ziglar off and on for years but didn't know a thing about him. When I saw this offered for $4.95 I thought, "Why not see what he is about?" I like to listen to positive people.
What I learned was that Zig is a type of preacher of the Christian variety. Maybe not ordained but a preacher nonetheless. This was a big surprise as nowhere in the book description was it indicated that he lards his pep talks with Biblical verses at infinitum. I found this excessive.
His basic advice, though, is common good sense, things you have heard all your life. No complaints there.
"Great "first read" Zig book"
Over the years I have read and gave his books to others as gifts. This is the core of the idea without some of the ideas that don't stand up well to the test of time. I loved his first book at the time, but this is better.
His deliberate and systematic love and support of his family both biological and community -- how they built him up, how he works for them.
Over and over again Zig Ziglar speaks of the people who have been central to his life, who have corrected him, His daughter Julie is his editor and he speaks very candidly about how her contributions have made this a very different book than what he would have written. He speaks in detail about how his brand is occupied by the people in his life -- how his wife is his business partner, how his business plan is not dependent on him as an individual.
If you only listen to books in Central American Midwest accent this book is not for you. If you don't like to hear a man take as his own a standard cliche social role (man of the South) then blow through the concepts central to the cartoon cutout usually put up to ridicule, this book is not for you. If you want a good start on a rubric that was designed from the start to be more than just one man, and that continues on today, this book is for you.
"Too many bible scripture quotes"
I have always enjoyed Zig Ziglar audios and looked forward to this book being along the same lines. I read the reviews and saw that it did quote scripture but what I didn't realize was how much. I have no problem with bible quotes, but every 5 minutes in this long audio book is too much for me. I admit I could not finish the book but it seemed to have little real content in between the scriptures. If you looking for a motivational book that integrates the bible with Zig's past talk, this is the book for you. But if you're not a dedicated Christian, I'd recommend passing on this one.
"Really hard to listen to--Narration is poor"
Can a company actually charge for this??!?! Zig Ziglar may have a little good information, but they are really hard to come through his recordings. Listening to his narration is like listening to a stroke patient speak (his speech is slurred, sometimes as if he can't control his lips). It's just painful to listen to. He should have hired a professional narrator! As it is, all Zig's recordings are a waste of money!
