Rich in suspense and brimming with adventure, the New York Times best-selling Underland Chronicles unfold the fate of the Underland and the great warrior, Gregor. Suzanne Collins is also the author of the best-selling Hunger Games trilogy.
Book two left off with Gregor reading the Prophecy of Blood: a prophecy that calls for Gregor and Boots to return to the Underland to help ward off a plague. But this time, Gregor's mother refuses to let Gregor return to the Underland...until the rat Ripred assures the family that Gregor and Boots are needed only for a short meeting, which the crawlers will attend only if their "princess" Boots is present. Gregor's mom finally relents, but on the condition that she go with them so they aren't out of her sight.

"The addition of the mother adds a fresh dynamic to the fast-paced, suspenseful story." (Booklist)
Fantastic! Great intro of the mother. The ending leaves a wonderful opening for a continued saga. Hoping that Suzanne Collins keeps the plot alive.
Never heard of Gregor or this series before, but now I am a convert. Excellent!
Qualifies as a great book and fairy tale you are sad to hear it end.
Love this author and style of writing. Was completely pleased with the narrator and the book content.
Audible was too slow to get the last book in the series so I had to buy the hard copy--its that good!
Audible Obsessed wishes she had more time for so many audiobooks.
I would, but I have been listening to Gregor since the first book, and Paul Boehmer changed some of the minor characters voices, which was a little disappointing, but overall, he has had a very good performance. I wouldn't choose the print version over the audio one.
When they find the queen in the jungle.
That is funny because it is also the most enraging scene. It happens when they found out that they had been in that awful quest for nothing (except for Hazzard).
Another moment I enjoyed was when Gregor told Mrs. Cormacy the truth about his disappearances.
Certainly, but there was so much pain and suffering from the beginning, that sometimes I had to stop listening, put myself together and get it back.
I recommend this book, but only if you have read the previous ones.
Suzanne Collins really brings the story alive. I love the way she developed the characters in each book. She also introduces new characters in each new book. I am sad when she kills off her characters that she convinced the reader to love.
The cliff hanger at the end. It made me want to purchase the next book right away.
Only in the series. He has a good range of voices to fit the variety of characters.
When Hamnet and Frill died.
keeps me interested for the entire book - I listen to the books whilst driving - cant wait for my next road trip!
fantastic difference voices for all the characters - big fan.
I did find myself laughing out loud a couple of times
Highly recommend this series and The Hunger Games series.
This story and its' characters will always be some of my favorites. It is easy to get lost in the adventures and the atmosphere of the Underland.
I listened to the first book because I enjoyed Collins other books. Once finished, I couldn't wait to follow the characters to their next adventure.
It is hard for me to target just one. I enjoyed the imagery Collins provided of the jungle and the characters' difficulties navigating the dangers. I really enjoyed the interactions between RipRed and Gregor.
Yes, but I would constantly listen to books if I could. The further I read in the series, the more time I spent listening.
I realize this book was written for young adults, but, like the Hunger Games, it has an appeal for all ages.
As good as the Harry Potter series.
Paul does a great job with different voices and this whole series would not be nearly so enjoyable without this performance.
I don't noramlly like young adult (teenage) novels but this whole series is wonderful.
This is a book for kids but was quite enjoyable. The narrator was great, the plot was sometimes intense. The writer did a great job. I am looking forward to more by Ms. Collins.
The books in this series just get better as they go. Really enjoyed the storyline in this book. And it threw in some exciting twists to the over all series.
I sometimes regret starting this series. The writing is only fair; sometime down right lame. You can see the stitching between the author’s ideas for the storyline. Still I buy. I listen.
