Publisher's Summary

In an uptown strip joint, a cop is found bludgeoned to death. The weapon's a baseball bat. The motive's a mystery. It's a case of serious overkill that pushes Eve Dallas straight into overdrive. Her investigation uncovers a private club that's more than a hot spot. Purgatory's a last chance for atonement where everyone is judged. Where your most intimate fate depends on your most intimate sins. And where one cop's hidden secrets are about to plunge innocent souls into vice-ridden damnation.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

"J D Robb and Susan Ericksen"

Every now and then I read a comment on the "In Death" series where the reviewer has a negative comment on Susan Ericksen's narration. This baffles me. Ms. Ericksen IS Eve, Roarke, Peabody, etc. I would NEVER want another narrator for this series.
I enjoy Nora Roberts/J D Robb's writing and I love Ms. Ericksen's narration. Please, don't listen to the negative comments. Listen to one of the books and make the decision yourself. I don't think you will regret it.

    "Wonderful, as usual"

I can't imagine anyone else reading the In Death books. Susan Ericksen is great, in my opinion and, after what seems like tons of books in the series she IS the voice of Dallas, Roarke, Peabody (my favorite), the commander and everyone else. The stories are so entertaining and fun to listen to, I wish J.D. Robb could write more of them. When she writes as Nora Roberts, the books don't send me but this series is one of my very favorites.

I am a retired Court Reporter and I LOVE books. All kinds of books but my favorites are mysteries and period books. I like civil war books and some biographies.

    "ANOTHER GREAT JD ROBB BOOK"
Would you listen to Judgment in Death again? Why?

    YES

Who was your favorite character and why?

ROURKE, love his IRISH accent and mysteriousness about him

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Susan Ericksen does a great job with all her characters, she started this book off a little slow but it picked up as the book moved on. Many readers commented about the Peabody character and I had braced myself it wouldn't sound like Peabody, but I thought she still held true to her character.

"Always Impressed. Even after Book 11."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. Every mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what unfolds.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, both with the case and with Eve's personal life. I love listening to how Eve and her husband and friends deal with the cases together. The dynamic is fascinating and well developed.

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her incredibly talented performances. Even at book 11, I am always so impressed with this narrator. The author continues to add characters, and Susan Ericksen has a unique and always fitting voice for every character. She never messes up. When I read, I unknowingly give characters a certain voice in my head, and Susan Ericksen does this for you. It makes the books that much more enjoyable. I am so thankful she is the narrator for this series and hope she is until the very last book.

I have always loved reading encouraged by my Mum from a very early age. I spent time driving to work and audible is brilliant for this. I'm a nurse and the job can be quite hard at times listening to books can help me to switch off and find some balance in life.

    "Purgatory"

With Roarke owning almost everything thing in New York it is no surprise that the strip club call Purgatory is owned by him. But a murder of a cop in Purgatory does not look good for him. Dallas finds herself trying to find out why a cop was murder when another cop is killed. The question comes up if they where killed because they know something or is it because they are dirty. With the help of her team and Roarke they must solve the murders of these cops before another is killed. J. D. Robb and Susan Ericksen have done other winner. There is few writers and narrator combinations that are suited for each other, that make the story leap off the drawing board and creates a new world for the listener to walk in too.

"Great To Have More of Roark In this book."

JD Robb and Susan Ericksen are a fabulous team.

I loved this book with it's bigger storyline for Roark. All of the additional voices were excellent as well.

As always, I can't wait for the first words of the next one.
