Fresh from retaking a battle-scarred White House after a vicious terrorist attack, Mitch Rapp, the C.I.A.'s top counter-terrorism operative, is sent on his final mission. His target: a well-known German industrialist who has been selling highly sensitive equipment to one of the world's most notorious sponsors of terrorism. As Rapp meticulously prepares to take the man out, he has no idea that there are forces within his own government who are plotting to use him.
The conspirators have devised a bold plan that will damage the president and ruin the career of the incoming director of the C.I.A.'s Counter-terrorism Center. Unfortunately, they have made one horrible miscalculation: they have chosen Mitch Rapp as their pawn. Their worst nightmare is about to be realized. They have enraged one of the most lethal and efficient killers the C.I.A. has ever produced - and he will stop at nothing to find out who set him up.
Hear Mitch Rapp, the CIA's top operative, battle global terrorism in more of Vince Flynn's political thrillers.

"Wanted more"
This book was the first in a series that I will definitely go back and listen to. It would be good if these books were in 'Unabridged' format because the depth of the characters would be better.
Great book for a short read.
"Bogus Abridgment"
This supposed abridgment stops right in the middle of the book, without finishing what the story line is of the actual book I read prior to purchasing the audiobook. This isn't an abridgment, it is merely a truncation of the book.
Don't purchase this, it is a waste of a credit or your money, whichever you use...
At first I thought it was a damaged audiobook, so I downloaded another copy, which was identical to the first download.
"There are better from Flynn"
I now have listed to all but one of Flynn's novels on audible. Avoid this book and choose from among other great Flynn novels. The best are read by George Guidall. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Vince Flynn--just not this one. There is very little action, particularly from the counter terrorism hero we all love--Mitch Rapp.
"Abridged sucks"
Great story, love the spy hero types but I hate that it is only offered abridged. You miss so much.
"4.5 Fast pace with interesting twists"
My 12 year old son, who is an intelligent and avid reader, turned me on to Vincent Flynn. The story moved along well and kept me captivated throughout. The narrator could have paused between chapters slightly. I needed to rewind for points that were missed when the story changed abruptly. I recommended this for spy novel fans and plan to download other Vincent Flynn books available.
Lover of good ideas
"Left me feeling hungry"
While the story was gripping as all of mr Flynn's novels are, this abridged version of his novel, left me feeling that I was missing a lot of his original book. This was especially true of the ending, which left you wondering what was going to happen next. Mitch Rapp was given a new life and Irene Kennedy a new role, but I would have like to see some closure regarding the Senator. Maybe the story will continue in another novel.
"Abridging Flynn"
Vince Flynn writes tremundous action packed novels- but attemping to abridge his works is a travesty to both the author and the reader.
retired teacher, play competitive bridge and recreational golf, am a crafter
"Third Option"
Vince Flynn is my favorite action author but he just doesn't write enough books. Rabb, the hero just gets the job done without a lot of
chatter. Read one and you will want to read them all!
"Holds your interest"
I listened to one then had to get the whole series. I liked them all.
"Not one of my favorites."
Only if this book were on the discount bin.
Yes, it is very clear that this makes the setting for book three. I think that this audiobook was abridged, it felt too short, and I felt cheated that too much of the story was missing. It seemed like there wasn't much action, and was disapointed with this one. I like the Mitch Rapp series but this was lacking, and very dry.
I like the series, after reading Kill Shot, then decided to start back to the beginning. I really liked the first, and thought it was excellant.
