"horrible audio-terrible abridgment"
This is the most horrible abridging I have ever listed to. Their are audio quality lapses- as if the studio or tape changed. The reader is also very bland. There are huge storyline segments missing. One minute Anna is thinking of leaving, next minute she has her lovers child. If you just want a basic jist, I guess this is for you. It is what you should expect however when 36 hours of unabridged audio is crammed into a little over 3 hours. terrible, horrible I would not recommend.

"Beautiful"
I actually listened to this books years ago and found it to be one of the most beautifully written books i've ever read. After listening to the abridged version I went out and bought to book so that I could know the entire story. It is by far one of mu favorite books of all time. Tolstoy had a way of getting inside the mind of a woman that I've not seen in many other authors. If you like this book I recommend reading some of his short stories also.

Very nice abridged version, much easier to get through than the thousand page book.

"not so excited about the narrator"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?definitely time well spent, its a classic and everyone should listen to it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Anna Karenina?all of it, its a tremendous tour de force

"Too Short"
I got this particular abridged version because I read the unabridged was too long. Unfortunately it was read so well and so interesting, I wish they had put more into it as it was too short and I didn't want it to end. I think if the unabridged was 36 hours, they certainly could have cut that in half with at least a few more hours on the unabridged version. Good book though.

"Outstanding classic..."
I completely enjoyed this book.Tolstoy explained each character with indepth description that allowed you to connect mentally with each one.This classic is a must read.Ms. Porter did an excellent job narrating.I was sorry it ended!
