Direct sequel to the New York Times and USA Today best-selling A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron.
Buddy is a good dog. After searching for his purpose through several eventful lives, Buddy is sure that he has found and fulfilled it. Yet as he watches curious baby Clarity get into dangerous mischief, he is certain that this little girl is very much in need of a dog of her own. When Buddy is reborn, he realizes that he has a new destiny. He's overjoyed when he is adopted by Clarity, now a vibrant but troubled teenager. When they are suddenly separated, Buddy despairs - who will take care of his girl?
A charming and heartwarming story of hope, love, and unending devotion, A Dog's Journey asks the question: Do we really take care of our pets, or do they take care of us? More than just another endearing dog tale, A Dog's Journey is the moving story of unwavering loyalty and a love that crosses all barriers.

"Outstanding!!!!"
Yes, the narrator brings a certain something to the book that cannot be fulfilled by just reading, When I listened to the book I felt as if someone was sitting in my house telling me a story that was part of their life.
With out a doubt it was all the different dogs, or should I say the same dog in different lives. My wife and I are real animal lovers but really have a special place in our hearts for dogs.
As I said before a narrator brings things to the story you could never have if you just read the book.
The movie tag line of "You'll Laugh, you'll cry, but you'll leave with a new spring in your step and love in your heart" Corny but true.
I listened to Mr. Cameron's first book and afterwards sent him email asking when the next book would come out, the same goes now when is the next one to be published, we look forward to that day.
"A Dogs Journey"
Told from the dogs point of view.
The dog of course
He has an amazing way of changing his voice tone for different characters. I loved how he made Gloria sound as whiny in her speech as she was in her character
Both.
An amazing book, I had to listen to it twice. It truly makes you look at your dogs differently.

"A Darker, Sadder Sequel"
I adored A Dog's Purpose, both the plot and the performance by George K. Wilson. The sequel left me with some heart-warming moments, but overall sadder upon completion. The lead human character was more tragic, and the supporting characters were either far more heroic or far more despicable than any in A Dog's Purpose. Gloria was easy to hate, and Trent spent time between scenes having his halo polished and his wings adjusted. I won't be giving the hardcover of the sequel as gifts as I did with A Dog's Purpose. Not a bad book to be sure, but a different mood from the first volume.
"Sigh, a loving tribute from Man's best friend..."
This put a lump in my throat and a smile on my face many times through the reading. I has made me look at my dog and cat in a whole new light. What is there purpose and what is my role in helping them fulfill it. If you love your pets and feel a strong connection to your dog..this is a must read. Especially if you have loved and lost a pet, your heart will sing to have a unique perspective. A lovely follow up to a Dog's Purpose by the same author. The narrator is terrific as well. A+++
"Another Favorite!!!!"
When I finished the first book "A Dogs Purpose" I needed more!! This one was as good as the first and leaves me hoping for a third!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!!
I love the way it shows the possible way a dog sees us and sees his role in our lives and wonderful way I now look at my dog, Candy.
Too many to list
I laughed and I cried and I hugged my dog!
Truely hoping for another one...
"Even better than the first!"
If you liked the first book, a dog's purpose, then you will love this one too! I actually liked this one even better than the first one! Must read for dog lovers!
The voice of the writer, the way he wrote so well from the point of view of a dog!
Of course the dog, but also CJ.
I love this book!
I am the girlfriend to a wonderful man, the mom to two sweet doggie boys and two overly cautious girl cats, the Manager, Operations and Knowledge Support Services at CAMH, a blogger, a reader, a business owner, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a neice, a cousin, a twitter lady for The Puppy Rescue Mission... AND VERY TIRED! LOL!!!!
"I Loved a Dog's Journey"
I would, and I just might. This was a perfect continuation of the A Dog's Purpose... Interwoven and just captivating. I didn't want it to end. All of the small details that went into this book are amazing. Things you had to think about, and then things that made you giggle uncontrollably! LOVED IT!
The end when he/she finally got to go to be with all those he/she had loved!
I think they were all good, but MAX and his big attitude was kind of special!
Yes, I listen to books in the car on the way to and from work. I could not wait to get in the car to get back to it.
"Wonderfully Touching"
I loved this book, just as much as the first book. This tale of the unconditional love of a dog shows the known true colors of a dog being a guardian, protector, and companion. Anyone who loves dogs should read this book; instead of seeing through the human point of view, enjoy seeing through the dog point of view filled with the humor and reality of life, unfolding for us to see in the eyes of the protagonist. I believe any doglover would enjoy this book, if they are as crazy about animals as I am :)
Avid reader my whole life - addicted to audio. I listen to books & podcasts while working, driving, sleeping......
"Hard to follow A Dog's Purpose"
I'm sure the reason I didn't find this book as enchanting as A Dog's Purpose is because that book was truly a one-of-a-kind. The story of Buddy/Bailey/Ellie continues in this book - which was ok at first, but about halfway through I began to wish the author had started with an entirely new dog and a new family to go along with it. I get the overall message that a dog keeps being reborn until it has fulfilled its true purpose - I just lost interest in this particular dog and kept thinking the author had dogs confused with cats who actually do have 9 lives (hint of sarcasm). Dog lovers and soft hearted folks will still probably love this book - I'm just a crabby cat lady who found herself less than impressed.
