At 39, Tallie Jones is a Hollywood legend. Her work as a film director is her passion and the center of her life; one after another, her award-winning productions achieve the rare combination of critical and commercial success. With no interest in the perks of her profession or the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles, Tallie maintains close and loving relationships with her college-age daughter and her aging father, and has a happy collaboration with Hunter Lloyd, her respected producing partner, confidant, and live-in lover. Rounding out the circle and making it all work is Brigitte Parker, Tallie’s devoted personal assistant. Friends since film school, they are a study in contrasts, with Brigitte’s polished glamour balancing Tallie’s artless natural beauty, and her hard-driving, highly organized style a protective shield for Tallie’s casual, down-to-earth approach.
As Tallie is in the midst of directing the most ambitious film she has yet undertaken, small disturbances begin to ripple through her well-ordered world. An outside audit reveals troubling discrepancies in the financial records maintained by Victor Carson, Tallie’s longtime, trusted accountant. Mysterious receipts hint at activities of which she has no knowledge. Soon it becomes clear that someone close to Tallie has been steadily funneling away enormous amounts of her money. In the wake of an escalating series of shattering revelations, Tallie will find herself playing the most dangerous game of all - to trap a predator stalking her in plain sight.
In this riveting novel, Danielle Steel reveals the dark side of fame and fortune. At the same time, she brilliantly captures a woman’s will to navigate a minefield of hurt and loss - toward a new beginning.

"Danielle Steel classic"
It was one of Danielle Steels better books.
Tallie
Brought the characters to life.
The performance was good and this made it hard to put down.
The story kept my interest but was slightly unbelievable. I did enjoy the book, I have read or listened to most of Danielle Steels books.
"So repetitive!"
The story repeats itself over and over again, until one wants to scream!!! One has to wonder if this is to meet a minimum nr of words!
"Beautiful Book"
As usual Danielle Steele kept my interest through out the entire book making me feel like I was living it not just reading or listening to it this is the first Audible book I have ever heard and I enjoyed it totaly It is getting very difficult for me to read a book and I will be looking for more from Danielle Steele....I Love your work so much....................Shirlee Proctor Columbia Tn.

"Never trust anyone"
I found this book to be true to life. Don't trust anyone, no matter how long you have known them, and a good lesson, never tell any of your secret's that you don't want repeated, they say you can earn trust, but not true, you can only trust one person.GOD.
"I could not get enough .. was sad when it was over"
I never read it .. I just enjoy going about my business and reading a book at the same time or listening I should say .
Everything it just blended so well
When Talli and Jim got married both so deserving, However, there were other chapters that intrigued me .
I would not change the Title at all very fitting .
I have always enjoyed the writings of Danielle Steel and love her TV movies as well. Time for another mini series =)
"still have not finshed"
i would but not by the narrator his voice puts me to sleep
not sure but this voice put me to sleep
"Redundant!!!"
Perhaps
Eliminate the redundancy that appeared throughout the entire book.
Write new material and don't repeat yourself over and over throughout the entire book!
I would have deleted over half the book by removing all of the redundant words and scenes. Then I would have given the unfinished script back to Danielle Steel so that she could write new original material to complete the story..
I never write reviews but felt compelled to write this one in case I can spare someone the misery of reading/listening to this book. It was clear to me the author, Danielle Steel, did not have enough original material to write about so she filled the entire book by repeating herself over and over again. It was horrible! I am so sorry I wasted my time and money on this dreadful book!
"big Steel fan"
Dont Know
Yes
The first part was ok but I could have written the rest myself...didn't even finish part 2. Too predictable.
"Love Danielle Steel"
Good book. Yes some you could tell what was coming. But as always, Danielle Steel is the best at what she does...
"So predictable"
No
I am not sure
Fine, bad story
No
I love Danielle Steel. Have since the early 80's. I am so sad to write this..but, this book, is so predictable, every next step of the characters was like a boring repetitive next..next...next...all so easy to foresee... .. I stopped listening on my long drive, because I kept predicting, correctly, what would happen...I got through the first hr., then turned it off like an old re-run on T.V. I had seen 8 times., though it was a new book. Maybe for a 14 yr old, this would be a fun chapter book choice.
