One year after the end of the Dominion War, the Romulan Star Empire comes under attack by a mysterious and alarmingly powerful enemy calling itself the Watraii, a species with a long-standing vendetta against the Romulans. Yet though they remain tenuously allied, the Federation, the Romulans, and the Klingons are unready to become embroiled in another sustained conflict, forcing Ambassador Spock, Admiral Uhura, Admiral Chekov, Captain Saavik, and some unexpected allies to defy their governments in order to meet the new threat head-on. But the first blood drawn may prove to be among the dearest of all.

"Enjoyable"
I did enjoy it. However, since this is book one of three, there isn't an audio listening to book two. Can't listen to book three until I read book two. That's the only downfall of this.
"If you want some Vulcan history..."
Spock is married to Captain Saavik, we finally get that bit of history. I have to ask though, Audible has book one of the Vulcan Soul trilogy and book three. What about book two, Exiles? Come on Audible how am I to know what leads up to book 3?
"Check First or Don't Bother"
The existence of Book 2: Exiles in Audible stock would have made this book better. The audiobook does exist, however, for reasons that Audible and Amazon have not yet replied to me about, Book 2 does not exist in Audible's library. If you get hooked with book one Exodus, you'll definitely want to listen to Book 2 only to find out that Audible does not have book 2 (as of this posting in mid January 2012).
My most memorable moment is the cliffhanger when Chekhov gets involved in a special mission near the end of the book.
Mr. Gaines' performance was okay: not remarkable but not distracting with his style. The only thing is that his female voice characterizations are slightly comical. To publisher: there are plenty of out-of-work Star Trek actors. Why did not you use one of them?
The book didn't spark Anger, Sadness or Disapointment, but Audible did spark Anger, Sadness and Disapointment when I found out that Audible does not have book 2 and have not yet responded to my email regarding that issue.
Audible needs better customer service. I haven't yet received an answer regarding Book 2 and now Audible is asking me to rate the book. When Audible makes available a series of books, trilogy, etc. Audible should check if they have the complete series, otherwise post up front in the book description that Book 2 is currently not available, or something to that effect. I never thought to check if Audible had the complete series when I signed up with Audible. I assumed that they would have the whole series.
