"An excellent treatment of a fascinating topic."
My library includes some 700 books, many about similar topics. This book is near the top. The central message of this book is that you must control your internal monologue to be effective in interpersonal interactions. The book had just the right amount of scientific data to keep a scientist interested, and just enough animated discussion to make it a delightful page turner.
I have been working on my internal monologue for many years, so this book came a bit late for me. But for those who suffer from brain ANTS (automatic negative thoughts), I recommend first that you read Feel The Fear and Do it Anyway, then this book and you will be much more effective in your daily life.37 of 37 people found this review helpful -
"Practical Tips for Social Situations"
What did you love best about The Charisma Myth?There are many exercises to "trick" your brain into acting more charismatic. Because your brain can't differentiate between reality and your imagination, these techniques are highly effective.

"Will listen to again"
Where does The Charisma Myth rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?I have only listened to dale carnegies "How to win friends and influence people" and I got a lot of good information from that book. This one is more along the lines of your own personal character and how you handle situations. Some very good information in this book!
What about Lisa Cordileione’s performance did you like?Lisa's voice is captivating and really kept me intrigued. I will listen to books just knowing she is the narrator.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Charisma Myth?This book gave a lot of good guidance on how to handle yourself, how to prep yourself mentally, emotionally and even physically.

"Excellent, but better as a book..."
Any additional comments?I LOVE the information in here, only problem is she did not include a PDF and if you really want to work the teachings in this book you need the chart and graphs she refers too. I eneded up frustrated because I wanted to get maximum benefit from the fabulous information in this book but was limited without the visual aids. It is VERY good, even just to listen too, and interesting but wish she had of included a PDF. :(

"Needs summarized workbook; Loses value without"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?Anyone that owns the physical book, considering that would be the only way to actually do the activities when she says things like "Fill out the form below to find out your results regarding this principle." Too bad I can't open and fill out the audio book...duh

"Great Book"
Would you listen to The Charisma Myth again? Why?Yes, Gives you many ideas in a simple language that you can understand and put it to use immediately.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Charisma Myth?Mind is connected to body and body to mind. By working one or the other you can elevate your charisma myth.
What about Lisa Cordileione’s performance did you like?Clear enunciation and melodic voice
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?Be present in the moment and too trick the mind to always project charisma.

"Solid information but nothing new"
Book starts out with solid information about Charisma. But ends up being a compilation of good advice about emotional intelligence in general. In the middle of the book I lost interest because there was nothing really new.

"It can be learned ... and ... it does work!"
This book is fantastic! I am going to listen to it 2 or 3 more times there are so many suggestions to work on. The ideas presented are easy to understand and the things that the author suggest doing are all essentially 'simple'. You just might need to be a little brave with some of them, but mostly it is just remembering what to do.
It will feel funny at first, but then it quickly becomes second nature. I have started with a few of the techniques and it is having a noticeable impact on my life in just a few weeks. I am more confident and better able to communicate with people.
The narration was well done and a pleasure to listen to. I recommend this book to anyone who can't understand why no one will listen to them.

"This Generations Dale Carnegie....This is a Must!"
Amazing Book. This book breaks down how we can fix certain self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors. This book will grow your confidence, self-esteem, and re-duce stress. Really an effective life changing book.
Everyone should have this book. It is a fun read and truly beneficial. And guess what once you pick this book up you will read it...unlike the other self-help books you eventually give up on.
