Kris Jenner executive produces and stars as matriarch on the hit reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E!, now in its fifth smash season. Here, this ambitious businesswoman who has catapulted her family into the public consciousness reveals what it’s like living under the celebrity spotlight and touches on themes of love, loss, marriage, divorce, and motherhood.
Now the mother of six children - Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Robert Jr., Kendall, and Kylie (and the grandmother of Mason) - opens up about her first marriage to Robert Kardashian (widely known as one of O.J. Simpson’s defense attorneys); her current marriage to Olympic decathlon Bruce Jenner; her often controversial parenting style; O.J. Simpson (she was Nicole Simpson’s best friend); her work in television (she is currently the executive producer of all four hit Kardashian shows - Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Khloe & Lamar); and more. A media and marketing powerhouse, Kris and her family collectively earned more in 2010 than Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, and Tom Cruise combined. This inside look will appeal to more than just other multitasking moms, but also anyone interested in what it’s like to be the head of such a famous family!

"Not narrated by author"
I prefer personal memoirs read by the author - thinking this was also read by its writer.
HOWEVER - only the introduction is read by Kris Jenner - the rest of the book is by someone else - they are fine - but it's not at all the same or as "advertised".
Please change the "Narrated by" to reflect the actual reader of this audiobook - it is NOT Kris Jenner, and I would not have purchased it under these circumstances. Kris has a flair and a way of speaking that I wanted to hear - it is unfortunate that she could not have read the whole book. Introduction just left me wanting more of that same pizzaz - that lacked in the rest of her story.
"Diary of an attention whoring parasite"
Kris Jenner is a master marketer and does have some work ethic, but really has little else to offer. Her entire fortune comes from riding the coat tails of others. She totally screwed over her first husband who gave her any/everything, she used her second husband's accomplishments to build a business on, whored out her entire family to a reality tv show and now is selling a book largely based upon her friend's murder.
Very drawn out - the book could have been much shorter. I also really tired of all the name dropping and vacuous descriptions of everything as either "amazing" or "fabulous".
The narrator did a good job.
Recommend getting from the library if you can instead of lining her pockets.
"Disappointed"
Her Children
No
Not writing to the reader but more for herself and childrenn
HOW TO BE A GOLDDIGGER
Never expected to read such greedy nonsense
"Mixed feelings but mostly good"
Not at the top, but in the top levels
I appreciated getting an insiders look at the OJ - Nicole tragedy. And I was happy to know that even someone as close to them as the Kardashian's could see through all the BS and see the true psychopath OJ is.
I like Kris' voice in the intro. I wish she would have narrated the whole book. With all due respect for Ms. Strassman, I don't think her voice fit well with Kris' words. I was distracted by her raspier voice with Kris' face in my mind. Seemed like a mismatch.
Robert Kardashian's letter to her after the OJ trial. This book made me really admire Robert Kardashian. What an amazing man he was. And also, learning about Bruce Jenner. He sounds like a great guy too. I don't watch their show, so I enjoyed learning about them through Kris' perspective. Also, her talking about the loss of her Dads and Robert. That stirred up my personal experiences of my own losses. So those parts had me in tears.
I enjoyed the book, but I cringed every time Kris talks about a vehicle. "I drove up in my Range Rover"."I rented a Mercedes Bus." "We got in the BMW Limo." We get it Kris - you have money. My friends and I either do, or have driven high end cars also, but none of us refer to them by the brand. That's so annoying and pompous.
On another topic, with so many personal things she reveals in the book about herself and her family and also friends, I'm surprised there was no mention of Kim's sextape - unless I missed that. Urban Legend is that is what got the Kardashian's on the map and their show and began their fame. As a Mom myself, I wouldn't want to discuss things like that about my daughters either, but with all that WAS revealed in the book, it surprised me that was not.
Bottom line is, Kris has had some awesome opportunities which she very wisely acted on and ultimately became the person she is today. Yeah - a little hiccup with Ryan, but so what. She is a brilliant business woman with six gorgeous children and a great family. She's lucky and she's blessed.
"the worst decision that I ever made was buying this."
wow do not waste your money on this ego filled book I hated it...tori spelling and chelsea handler had better books..
""Amazingly" HORRIBLE!"
Poorly written, so sad that I wasted time listening to this garbage. Our country needs to stop buying all things Kardashian, myself included. Enough about this family, we need to pity them, not follow them.
"Changed my opinion on them.."
The narrator did an excellent job in the narration of the book. Not only is her voice similar to Kris's but she does a great job in keepin you captivated at all times. Her voice is very clear and does a great job in communicating the message.
Ever since the Kardashian's show started I watched. I enjoyed the show because of the dynamic of the family. I liked Kris from the beginning because not only is she physically beautiful but she apeared to be a great mom. I gotta say the last few seasons I lost interest because of Kim's shallowness adn drama. I think she's an ugly person regardless of her physical beauty and I just can't understand how she could be Kris's daughter and even worse, how Kris can compare herself so much to Kim and say they are exactly alike!?!
This book elaborates on Kris's parenting skills and her love for her family. She pours out her heart to you and is blunt and honest about everything in her life, including her mistakes. She lets you see how human she is and a side of Kris that iss very nurturing, loving, and strong. It's portrays someone you didn't imagine could be simply just because of the bad persona her daughter Kim has ended up being.
If you liked this family but then kinda lost interest because of their drama, this book will allow you to simply appreciate the best Kardashian/Jenner out of all, Kris!
The best part is when they read to you the letter Kris wrote to Robert Kardashian apologizing and letting him know how thankful she was for all he did for her. She really depicts this man as a wonderful person.
"Surprised how good it was"
Interesting, Inspiring and Respectable
The OJ trial descriptions
I had to admit I was inspired but her drive
I like the show but so many ppl had said the family is a scam... after reading this you can see she's just a good mom with good family values.
"Hate to Love the Kardashians"
The Kardashians are those people that you just want to go away...but yet in still you can't get enough of them! They are everywhere. In stores, on tv, and now...in print and audio. I wondered if reading Kris Jenner's biography/memoir (whatever you can call it) I would get the impression that she would be humble and down-to-earth about her riches and lifestyle - but she wasn't. They have always lived a life of complete wealth and excess and they aren't ashamed about it. Yet, the best part for me was hearing her talk about the OJ trial. Other than that, it was just chapter after chapter of excess - that I couldn't stop listening to.
An avid reader, who also loves to listen.
"Surpringsly Pleasant"
I must admit as much as I like watching her daughters on TV, Kris Jenner completely annoys me and overall, I felt like she comes off as being greedy and money hungry to the point, where she puts everything else over her family. However, this book proved me wrong. It was very interesting. She is actually very family oriented and that's what drives her. With that said, the topics on her dad's death and her ex-husband's passing were very touching and hearing about her relationship with OJ and Nicole during that whole ordeal kept me on the edge of my seat. Also enjoyed the narrator who sounded eerily like Kris Jenner herself. This was definitely a very good listen and I'm glad I decided to listen to it after all.
