I'm 55 years old and have bitten my nails from my earliest recollection. From the very first time I used this tape, the urge to bite my nails has just ceased to be; I have nails to the tips of all my fingers and I?m amazed each time I notice them. When you haven?t had nails all your life it?s really startling. I purchased the tapes to loose some weight, which has also worked, -15lbs. But stopping the biting and just overnight was my real miracle.
I had tried repeatedly to quit internet gambling for some months. I spent many hours most days winning and losing on-line. This audio tape has changed that. I am now accomplishing many other things in my life that had been ignored for the last several years. Very impressive.
Excellent and would recommend without hesitation. Glenn Harrold's harmonious blend of the depth of his voice and the instrumentation of the composition take you to a deep level of relaxation while imprinting the imagery needed to work on your addiction. I had a long standing cocktail hour addiction that I completely licked with the help of this audio. It works!
I have always scoffed at hypnosis audios...how can they possibly help? In fact, the first time I used this I did a lot of giggling. But after using this for a few days, I felt more calm and less eager to satisfy my cravings. I have not yet given up smoking, but I find myself lighting up less. Maybe I'm just fooling myself into thinking that this is working, but if I quit smoking does it matter? I urge you to try this. I like this so much that I am currently buying everything else by this author.
I would like to contrast Glen Herold's subliminal message targeting addiction with familiar twelve-step approaches. People develop habits, whether healthy or destructive, to fulfill a recurrent need of some kind. The need behind any habit will persist indefinitely. If communion with others through meetings or practicing the twelve steps serves as a good replacement for the "bad" remedy, then an addict can recover this way. But what if AA methods do not fill the void? Herold guides the listener to consider what he got out of his addiction, what need it was serving and what "good" habit would fill the same need. The "hypnotized" one is probed for a solution that only he can find. "Physician, heal thyself!" This is worth more than five stars--it's worth all the stars in the sky!
I would recommend this audio to anyone who wants to quit a bad habit. I love Glenn's voice. It is so calming and relaxing. I didn't really believe in hypnosis, but when I found Glenn's books I was hooked.
Tell us about yourself!
As a rather addictive sort of person, I did find this helpful but you have to listen nightly...wherein lies the rub. The author/narrator is just ODD. Odd phrasing, as in my title, odd accent, and the bit on the "diaphragmatic breathing technique" is the very best of the odd....but the price is right and, now that I am past the odd, it puts me right to sleep!!
