She gave him her innocence….
Lady Aline Marsden was brought up for one reason: to make an advantageous marriage to a member of her own class.
Instead, she willingly gave her innocence to John McKenna, a servant on her father’s estate. Their passionate transgression was unforgivable - John was sent away, and Aline was left to live in the countryside - an exile from London society - and he took her love.
Now McKenna has made his fortune, and he has returned - more boldly handsome and more mesmerizing than before.
His ruthless plan is to take revenge on the woman who shattered his dreams of love. But the magic between them burns as bright as ever. And now he must decide whether to let vengeance take its toll…or risk everything for his first, and only, love.

"Great Book great Narrator"
Wow, I was beginning to doubt the greatness of Lisa Kleypas‘ early books. The last 2 books published (Lady Sophia’s Lover & Worth Any Price) on audible was not up to her usual standard. But this book was great. Although great, this book was a little different from her usual writing style. Her books typically has a villain (Lord Westcliff (the elder or younger) aren’t villains, they were both jerks) and a mystery and/or a life threatening incident. But this one was all romance. Rosalyn Landor is such an amazing narrator; at times I almost forget that she is the only reader and not many others.
Well readers, I cannot go into much more without ruining it for you all. Highly recommend. BTW, when is "When Strangers Marry" coming out on audio book? One of the very Best.
I am a devoted fan of Lisa Kleypas and Rosalyn Landor.
Audio-fiction ADDICT !
"LK and RL again give us PURE MAGIC"
I have no words to describe this book ! It's simply MAGIC in every way , story, narration, and dialogue. Never wanted this book to end :( Lisa is such a sensual author ! And Rosalyn is MAGNIFICENT ! I can't believe how she does it ! Splendid ! As if there are multiple people performing not herself only ! And she not just reads , she actually performs and acts the dialogue , bringing each word and character to life. The combination of LIsa and Rosalyn is MAGIC :)
This book is a MUST for historic romance fans :)
I read so I can write
"My Favorite Kleypas!"
Well developed story with enough mystery and suspense to make it all that much better. Realistic characters in a realistic story makes this a book worth repeating more than once.
"Great read!"
All I can say is Lisa has done it again! And Rosalyn, I absolutely love your male voices....Add some criminal activities and this book would have been fabulous!
"Kleypas Fan"
I have recently encountered Lisa Kleypas. I have found that I thoroughly enjoy her writing. For those of us who read romance novels, we know there is a successful progression to each story. Kleypas is amazing at keeping her readers hooked, even though we may be sure of what will happen. She is fantastic at what she does. That being said, this book is definitely a romance novel and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't enjoy the genre.
"Another Winner!"
Another great book by Lisa, the classic story about two people falling in love then having to part then getting back together. It was steamy, Aline was a pretty good heroine, and John was so hot! Keep them coming Lisa!
I just Love the Allure of a Great Romance...a Pair of Rose Colored Glasses...some Fine Wine, and a Subscription to Audible...
"Lisa and Rosalyn 2 Thumbs Up!"
Rosalyn Landor is the best historical narrator I have ever heard. She is "on the mark" every time. Her voices are believable and bring the novel to an outstanding performance.
I have listened to several of Rosalyn Landors performances, and each one is incredible.
This book is definitely worth the credit and time. I could hardly put it down...I loved it!
"Fabulous narration by Rosalyn Landor"
Yes, this is the most entertaining narrator I have ever listened to on my "Books on Tape" and the story makes my heart ache for Aileen. Recommend very entertaining, I will be downloading many more of both Lisa Kleypas and Rosalyn Landor as Narrator, she's fabulous. She has many great voices!!
"Lisa is the best storyteller"
How the story starts with McKenna and Aileen as children both from different classes but how as they grew friendship developed into love and over the years how they end up together after going through hardships in their lives. If you listen or read Lisa's books carefully you will hear other characters from other books interwoven in all her books including this one.
No matter what, Aileen always continued to love McKenna even though he was beneath her but she was afraid of what her father would do to him if she did not send him away for his own good.
All of Rosalyn Landor's performances are excellent.
The entire book is very moving.

"A must read for "Wall Flowers" Fans!!!!!!"
The great thing about Lisa Kleypas' writing is that she takes a predictable storyline and adds enough twists to them that it keeps you going. Although one can always guess the ending before starting the story, she takes you on a ride that makes you long for the predictable happy ending while making you fall for & admire the male leads like Mr.Simon Hunt,Leo Hathaway & now McKenna. It's also great how she mingles the characters from different stories together to make a world where these beloved characters really come to life.
