Please give us more of this wonderful author and the equally wonderful narrator Stephen Thorne. These books are fun, intriguing and will tax your deductive powers in figuring out the mystery. If you haven't read the Gervase Fen series, you are in for a treat.

"Light, enjoyable read"
What made the experience of listening to Love Lies Bleeding the most enjoyable?My first Crispin and hopefully not my last. The motive behind the murders is so convoluted that it took several denouments to clear up! After previously complaining that I have a habit of figuring out the who in who dunnits too early in the book, this one had me guessing. Humorous (loved the batty senior dog!) the language was mild, add befits a tale from the early part of the last century, and impeccably well written.
What does Stephen Thorne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?Stephen Thorne was stellar, doing even female voices when required without straining vocal chords or credulity. I look forward to hearing more of his readings.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?Not really, no, but that is no reflection on the book. It comes from a more leisurely time, before instant gratification was the norm -- frankly, before instant pudding, even! This translates to a more leisurely read. A very interesting and entertaining read, but one you want to savor a while.
