This is Jon Kabat-Zinn's most comprehensive audio program on mindfulness. It combines gentle guidance with conversational narratives weaving together science, poetry, and the art of living - all in the sevice of deepening your appriciation of the "workability" of the present moment, no matter how hard or challenging your circumstances. This moment, when held in awareness with gentleness and self-compassion, has the potential for catalyzing, healing, and transforming your life. Mindfulness meditation is both a disipline and an adventure. This program accompanies you on that adventure as you become your own most trusted friend and guide. With a spirit of humor and exploration, Jon Kabat-Zinn invites us to learn and cultivate various applications of mindfulness in everyday living, just as you might cultivate a garden.

"Production issues"
I'm a big fan of his work and enjoyed this very much. However, Audible customers should be aware that there are large sections of this that are repeated; at least three chapters, by my count. Obviously a production error, but it's frustrating to buy something and then hear substantial portions of the book duplicated. Still worth listening, though.
"Most complete yet concise audiobook on mindfulness"
Jon hit the nail on the head with this book. It covers everything you need to know to be confident that you know how to use mindfulness meditation in just a few short hours. If you are someone who has bought various books on meditation but are still confused, or are just a plain beginner, this is the audiobook for you.
Guided Meditations included in the book:
(1) 15 minute guided bell meditation at 1:00:57,
(2) 30 minute body scan meditation at 2:38:27, and
(3) 45 minute sitting meditation starting at 5:33:18.
(Side note: Chapters 10 and 11 are repeated. This was a small mistake, but in no way does it detract from my appreciation for this book.)
"great book on staying in the present moment"
This was my first audio book on mindfulness and I thought the author did a great job of describing the different techniques for staying in the moment. There are several guided meditations and tips for "breathing into the moment". As other reviewers noted, chapters 10 and 11 are repeated, but I did not find that this detracted from the book. It is a great book on learning how to stay in the present moment.
"The essence of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s philosophy"
A practical approach to Zen Buddhism applicable to daily life. It is a condensed version of his books and the author’s voice is in-keeping with the message. But even though I really appreciate the author and I never get tired of reading or listening to his books, it would have been nice not to have to listen twice to chapters 8 and 9 (duplicated in 10 and 11).
