"Great but has NO chapters or story breaks!"
After personally exporting, manually saving every chapter and then resaving broken out by book then burning each story on disc to play for the kids then it was great. The terrible formatting was a huge pain and was the deciding point Not to purchase th next 2 volumes.
The kids like it all
Nothing. She was good
No! No 5 and 7 year old is going to digest 5 hours of stories
Please fix formatting! I'm tech savy but the 3 hours it took to make it workable was extremely frustrating
"Fun!"
My 7 year old daughter loved to listen to these while playing lego's or dolls. Much better than having the tv going in the background. She loves the books and has read them and is now enjoying listening to them over and over.
The trip to prehistoric times was exciting and entertaining.
While reading is incredibly important listening and using the imagination is also. This gives the child a different way to use their imagination. Audible books are a great way to encourage development. I also appreciate that Mary Pope Osborne does not use slang. I have found other audible's hard to listen to as they are written in slang or as if a 5-6 year old were speaking. Hearing poor English sets up a pattern for poor speaking in a young mind. I love that this author and this audible did not make me cringe.
"No chapter breaks or even book breaks. Ugh."
The reading quality was fine, but it's impossible to seek around to a specific book or chapter.
"Entralled"
My 4 year old no longer asks for the TV he wants to listen to the Magic Tree House. Now that is magic!!
"6 year old loves it"
My 6 year old listens to this over and over. And he's read some of these books as well.
"My daughter loves this!"
My 9 year old got a mp3 player for her birthday and really has enjoyed the magic tree house books download!
"Vocab builder for 7 yr old as I mentally check out"
Formulaic. Go to tree. Go to some historical time. Learn three vocabulary words. Go back to tree. I want to pull my hair out. Yet another unfortunate choice of having the author narrate. Of course, I'm 40; I'm hard to please. My seven year old son, however is totally engrossed and is learning as we drive in the car. And for that, Mary Pope Osborne, I love you.
Have someone exile read it, deviate from the formula - however I wouldn't notice because I mentally tune out five words in.
Yes. I value my son's education.
sure, how 'bout 9-16?
Ambivalence reigns here. I think I've stated my case.
"My daughter adores these"
We have read these books at home but my daughter loves listening to them again and again while in the car or at the store. Sometimes she follows along in the book and they have her enthralled.
"Jack and Annie have moved in!!!"
Entertaining. Interesting. Addictive.
The Famous Five - because they are also marvellous adventure tales in which you really get to know and love the characters, like they are part of the family.
A very soothing, slow voice which is perfect for children.
Absolutely. I think my daughter did!
I thoroughly recommend this to everyone. Not only is it a great listen, my daughter (aged 4 1/2) has leaned so much about the different times that Jack and Annie visit. It is a ripper!
"BORING TO THE BONE"
I really don't know who is reading this book but it is boring. I got it for my son to listen to when were travelling and he pays no attention to this narrator. She is BORING DRY OLD and DEAD to be blunt. I hate it my son hates it and I wish for a refund
My next listen will not be her
She could of had lessons
No, its a waste of space on my kindle
This book tanks on my list
