You can run from the grave, but you can't hide. Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her. But when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.
Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever and that Bones won't let her get away again.
Jeaniene Frost, New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, lives with her husband and their very spoiled dog in Florida. Although not a vampire herself, she confesses to having pale skin, wearing a lot of black, and sleeping in late whenever possible. And while she can't see ghosts, she loves to walk through old cemeteries. She also loves poetry and animals, but fears children and hates to cook.

“Proving that her first book was no fluke, Frost ratchets up the action and stirs up the suspense big time in her second Night Huntress novel. That said, it's the sizzling passion of her star-crossed lovers that really makes this book a genuine keeper!” (Romantic Times)
“This series is only getting better…between the exciting action scenes and the rekindled romance between Cat and Bones, I did not put this one down until the last page.” (Coffee Time Romance)

"Makes for a Short Commute"
So this book was way better than the first. I'm addicted to this series and can't wait to keep going. I loved some of the turns the series took with this installment and there was definitely some stuff there that I wasn't expecting. These books are making for wonderful entertaining on my daily commute. Again, my main complaint is with the voice the narrator uses for Bones. Isn't just not masculine enough. But I do recommend these books for anyone that likes some urban romance. Just beware there are very long and detailed sex scenes in the books.
To All My Favorite Narrators: You are the voices in my head...
"Oh Kitten!"
A great follow up to the first book. Honestly, the ending of the first book made me raise a few eyebrows. I was nervous about where Frost was taking the story, (Cat's Job) but she weaves it in perfectly. Four years has past in the story when we pick up book 2. Cat is very different than she was in first book - oh she is still her "punch first and ask questions later" self, but she is more confident, more assertive and definately the Head Bitch In Charge!
Again, like the first book - the plot seems almost secondary to the two main characters relationship - which Frost writes very well. Not to say the plot is not good - it is, but the plot only serves to build or tear down the relationship between Cat and Bones, which what makes it a good story for me. The plot moves along swiftly and with many new characters to make every turn of the page that much more interesting.
The only spoiler I will give is that I am about to begin Book 5 and they keep getting better and better!
I have a 40 minute commute each way and with out Audible, I'd go crazy! My fav genre is fantasy and I love a great series!
"Loved it!"
Couldn't wait to download the 2nd book and I'm on to the third! Excellent story, sexy but not vulger, this is a great book! Love the narrator - she has good tone and inflection and I love her Bones and other characters. I know whos talking before the author tells you. If you liked the first book, you'll like this one too. Yay for another good vampire series!
"One Foot In the Grave Review"
This title did not disappoint me. I felt the reader did a decent job and once again her reading didn't detract from the story. I did like how she actually voiced each character differently. Some were corny but it wasn't the same voice for every character so I appreciated that a lot. I felt the book was an excellent follow up to the first one. It kept my attention span and I couldn't wait to see how all the events would unfold. Without giving the story away, I thought the author gave exactly what I look for in a book like this.. adventure, passion, angst, violence, incredible sex, love, desire, joy, sadness..all sorts of emotions that were great to go through chapter by chapter in this title. I felt like the author really tied the ends together from the first book in a interesting way. Cat and Bones are just two great characters that really work well together. The author did another great job!
Give me all your hot, sexy romance BUT must be a smart read too.
"2nd Book in the Huntress Series"
I AM SO HOOKED on Cat and Bones' love story. This series of books has everything the hardcore romance novel lover could want along combined with the paranormal. Action packed, steamy romance, sweet love story, vampires...What more could a person want.
Tavia Gilbert, the narrator, is the essence of this audio series. Well DONE!!! BUY THEM ALL! I have.
"Awesome :)"
I have read all Jeaniene Frost's "Night Huntress" books and they are thrilling! I enjoy the narrator and how she uses inflection and incorporates the accents nicely! Well done everyone for the project. I have recommended the books to many people and sold tons more at the book store I work in. Jeaniene is definately a top favorite author of mine! Keep it up FROST!
"i have read the books and still enjoy the audible!"
A few authors I like enough to buy both the print and audible book (Illona Andrews, Charlaine Harris). This is one. A great series, funny and exciting. Strong women and fun fantasy premise, well written, good narrator.
"Fantastic Book!"
This book was just as good as the first book. Excellent story and narrator. Listened to in one day. On to book 3, out of credits so dollars it is. Highly recommended series so far.
"Jeaniene Frost amazed me once again!!!"
I enjoyed the growing relationship between Cat and Bones. The book is beautifully illustrates how they grow together emotionally and physically. Love the new characters. Love the humor. Love Cat's strong attitude.
She did great. Still don't like bone's accent but have gotten used to it.
When Bones defended Cat infront of her mother.
Can't wait for the next one.
"Refreshing"
I came across this author by accident. And she has moved into my top 5 list.
I don't know if its the way the book is read by Tavia Gilbert, but I have fallen in love with Cat and Bones.
I enjoy her spin on vampires and ghouls.
I highly recommend this series.
