Caine Allen is a hardened Texas Ranger, definitely not the marrying kind. But when he rescues a kidnapped woman and returns her to town, the preacher calls in a favor. And Caine's honor won't let him refuse.
From the moment he beds Desi, Caine knows turmoil will follow. Desi might have the face of a temptress, but she also has a will of iron, and while she needs his protection, she's determined that no man will control her again. They establish an uneasy bond, but it isn't enough for Caine. He wants all Desi has to offer. He wants her screams, her moans, her demands...everything. Yet there's still a bounty on Desi's head, and keeping her sexually satisfied is proving easier than keeping her alive.

Although I have been a fan of Sara McCarty for several years, this is her 1st book I have listened to in audio format. It is so good that I can't wait for the next in the "Hell's Eight" series. I wish the purchasing department of Audible.com would make available more unabridged reads in romance and erotica.
British and addicted to Audible! Hoping my review helps you spend or keep your credits!
Sensual, raw, action packed and disturbing.
This was my first erotic western in parts I was shocked my some of the content but I just could not stop listening. At times this is raw and sometimes you I thought Canie could be nicer to Desi. Yet I read on. I enjoyed the action scenes but what sticks in my mind is the SEX (there's a whole lot of it). This the best of the series ( I've read 4 of them).
I spin my own wool and knit. Listening to audiobooks while I craft is one of my favorite things. I'm hooked.
I really enjoyed Caine's Reckoning, for several reasons. While it did have an awful lot of explicit sexual content (and I mean a LOT...in detail), it also had a plot that was substantially different from your typical historical romance. The narrator was simply perfect for this book, with a smooth southern accent that set the stage quite well.
This book is perfect for steaming up your long winter nights. I had a very hard time taking a break during the 14 hour read. Caine is a true knight in shining armour. He is the perfect man; strong, rugged, and true to his word. It was very touching how he handled Desi from the moment he met her. His passion for her was only equal to his love. I too am looking forward to more books about the "Hell's Eight."
The story line was much more than I expected from Harlequin Spice. There was passion, intrigue and great sex. It combines erotic sexual scenes, with heart-twisting background stories, passion love and warmth, that left me wanting more. I can't wait until Sam's Creed comes! I'm definitely in love with the author and the Narrator did a great job. I wish audible carried more of Sarah McCarty's books.
I read the reviews on this book and thought it sounded good but I just didn't like it. For me it was soooo drawn out. I like sex scenes but OMG 2 chapters long for one? I kept thinking "get on with it" geez! I think this is one in a series but I won't be listening to the others it just isn't worth it. For me, the story just wasn't that interesting to give it that much of my time. Another one where I was glad it was over.
When I clean, drive or exercise I listen to romance. The steamier the better but it must have a great story as well!
This was by far the most erotic western I've ever listened to! It was like Louis Lamour in a wet dream! I enjoyed the fun of it and it was a great distraction while doing housework!
I thought the book was really good. I got into all the characters of Hell's Eight. Can't wait for the next one. I thought the narrator was good, giving the characters good separate voices. It's a good romance. I didn't find it boring as some have stated. Obviously it's not a Pulitzer, but I stil found it a good book.
The Best Historic (old West) Romance I have ever read. I want more from this author and I can not wait till the next book in this series. I marked it on my calendar.
This book maybe listed under the wrong genre. If you are looking for a historical romance, you expect a good romance with some sex thrown in; this is a lots and lots of sex with a little romance thrown in. Of the 14 hours of book 10 are explicit, graphic, crude, possibly offensive to many readers, in your face sex (no pun intended). Romance readers usually want even the sex scenes romantic, even the wording is soft and modest. This books uses a lot of hard language to describe the sex and it does describe sex over and over and acts that I have never seen described in a romance novel. Definitely for a mature audience. I gave this one star to warn or entice those that are considering this choice. If this was under erotica I would probably have given it 4 stars but I don't buy erotica.
