Isabella may look feminine and unassuming, but she's hell in a bodice with gunslinging skills to match any man's. But though she knows not to give Sam her heart as readily as she offers him her lush body, Isabella is certain she sees in Sam what he can barely glimpse in himself - a virtuous man dropped deep into a hard country bent on breaking him. A man who, under it all, craves a passionate woman willing to risk everything.

"These books are really good Westerns"
with Erotic content. They are definitely hot. However, if you don't care to hear about intercourse in an alternate orifice, I wouldn't suggest this book.
I honestly write these reviews in a spirit of sharing and helpfulness. I have no idea why I always end up sounding so snotty...
"Sam Fan"
I read the previous reviews because I brought the book up to look for more by the same narrator and was curious about what others thought. Now I have to join the discussion!
I obviously thought the narrator was masterful - but that's probably the problem - he goes (successfully, I thought) for more of a performance than most and you either enjoy the artistry, or you don't. I also enjoy the novelty of a male narrator, and as long as you're going for a sexy book, you might as well bring a sexy voice along for the ride (pun intended - sorry.)
I also differ from others, in that I didn't like Caine's Reckoning (I don't like romances with sexually abused heroines - serial rape spoils my mood for love.) and so I could only be pleasantly surprised by the sequel. I thought Sam's Creed was far more enjoyable. I'm not sure what the objection is, in fact. It's a 'thrown together' romance with a teasing (rather than angry or anguished) tone that builds to a satisfying, Dirty Harry on the range, climax. As for the pacing of the sexual relationship, I thought it was fairly typical of the genre and perhaps even more believable than many - He and she all alone in a cave with no t.v.... What would you do?
"My OH My!"
Sexy man! Great narrorator with a sexy deep voice. Plot could be better, but the rest makes up for it.
"Erotica at its best"
If you are embarrassed by heavy sexual themes you should not read/listen to Sarah McCarty's novels.
The imagery is fabulous, the descriptions of the locale makes you want to visit the West.
Personally, I love her writing and wish she would publish more.
I enjoy listening to Jason Adams and consider myself a fan.
"Liked it."
The story is good, not as good as Caine's Reckoning, but good. The narrator, as has been stated, is a little off-putting, but you mostly get used to him. Worth the money.
"Narrators voice hot"
I don't think Jason Adams did a great job of Isabella's voice, however, I needed a cold shower after listening to him read every other part. I listened to this book first, then found out about the 1st book. I did like her voice, but I hope Jason reads the rest of them.
"The book is HOT"
This story is well developed, the characters are interesting and the sex is HOT! There are a few flaws but they are minor compared to the story as a whole.
The narrator is the main reason I liked this book more than Caine's Reckoning. Jason Adams' talent is amazing - I had to remind myself several times that all of the voices were done by one man. I look forward to more of his performances. He certainly did an award winning job with this book.
"Narrator not up to par for female part"
The narrator has a very deep voice and I love his portayal of Sam, however, Isabella's character comes off as stilted, monotoned and hard to distinquish. I'm having a hard time getting the chemistry between the two because of her voice. It probably would have been better to read this one with my eyes. I will definitely finish it though because I loved Caine's Reckoning and want to stay in touch with the story. I've just gotten to the first sexual scene and it's pretty hot, I have to say!
"Sam wow!"
I love the character Sam. I really liked him when he was introduced in
Caine's Rechoning. His story is just right for him. The sex is quite graphic, so be forwarned. If you like hot, hot steamy alpha males, Sam's the man. Enjoy.

"U Are Putting me to Sleep Narrator!"
I think this book would have probably been good if the narrator didn't drag so much. If he was trying to have a southern drawl it didn't work. He sounds more like he is narrating this right out of bed in the morning as soon as he woke up with no energy or morning coffee.(His other characters sounded better than his Sam one).
I found myself skipping through the story just so that it could be overwith. ( I wanted to get some of my monies worth. I probaly gipped myself out of hearing a great story, but it was either that or fall asleep at the wheel since I listen to my stories on my 2.5 hour commute both ways,so that I can kill some of the commute time listening to a good book. I will defenitley make sure not to get this narrator again.
