Jocelyn Butler has been hiding from her past for years. But all her secrets are about to be laid bare....
Four years ago, Jocelyn left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Scotland, burying her grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without attachments. Her solitary life is working well - until she moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street where she meets a man who shakes her carefully guarded world to its core.
Braden Carmichael is used to getting what he wants, and he's determined to get Jocelyn into his bed. Knowing how skittish she is about entering a relationship, Braden proposes an arrangement that will satisfy their intense attraction without any strings attached.
But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, she realizes that Braden won't be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her...down to the very soul.

When I clean, drive or exercise I listen to romance. The steamier the better but it must have a great story as well!
"Great sex AND great story!!"
This book caught me in the first 30 minutes! It has a great story full of challenges and fulfillment. The sex is also amazing! I was enthralled and listened in practically one shebang, or at least every free minute I had. It's been a long time since I found a book that really satisfied me in the romance and story areas but this one stuck every need! Definitely worth a credit!
Make no mistake between my personality and my attitude. My personality is who I am, my attitude depends on who you are.........
"Very happily surprised....."
Of course I'm an addictied fan of Fifty; so I'm very quick to point out copy-kats. This book of course does follow the usual path of broken and trying to be in-love.
However, I'm not sure if it was the clever writing or the fabulous narrator that had me glued to it? Either way; I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next.........
PS - Narrator did an incredible Scottish Male accent that almost made me start smoking ..... HELLLLOOOOOO!!!
"Pleasant Surprise"
I had read on many book blogs that On Dublin Street was one of the best romance books of 2012 and I have to agree. The storyline and characters are great. It has humor, romance and sadness as you watch Joss struggle with several issues. The narration was great too. I really enjoyed it!
"Paula Costello is my new favorite narrator!"
The narrator is fantastic. Her seamless transition from English accent to Scottish is nearly flawless and made each character believable, approachable and likable. She expertly personified Joss and it was no trouble believing her as Braden, either.
I loved Joss. Vulnerable strength and genuine attitude. I loved experiencing her transition through the story from being afraid of her feelings and the truth of her inner dialog, to allowing that truth to come out and accept the affects of her reality. And she's witty and funny - always awesome attributes!
The Scottish brogue is one of the toughest accents to imitate and she seems to nail it. The way she sounded was much better than the horrid accent in my imagination.
I laughed out loud - "I guess I'm having sausage."
Awesome story, fantastic narration. Worth every penny.
"Enjoyable Read"
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The main character had lots of baggage and while it did weigh heavy, it didn't overwhelm. There were some unbelievable and impractical plot twists, but overall this was a very sweet story, full of sympathetic characters. I thought the narrator did a very good job. She managed both the American and Scots accents well.
Audiobooks are relaxing and 'food for the soul'.
"Wonderful Read, but...."
Great Contemporary Romance premise. Love the accents. Hated the "martyr" attitude.
The most interesting aspect of the story was how tolerant Braden was of Jocelyn's issues. I mean the guy has to be a Saint to put up with her whole "whoa is me" character throughout the ENTIRE book.
When Braden yells at Jocelyn to put her BS aside and stick by her friend that needs her.
Yes, frustration that I put up with her disturbing persona for the entire book. I stuck it out because I like all the other characters a lot.
With all this said, I can't wait for the next book...Down London Road...to come out in audible format. I'm hoping that the lead female character won't be such a drama queen in that one.
Just A little bibliophile!
"Good Romance, or, "Where Can I find MY Braden?""
I really enjoyed this story. In my estimation it is well-written and well-done. I became engrossed and was able to connect with the characters which, after all, is the number one job of any "good" fiction book. I ejoyed and liked the characters, and felt the book was pretty well-plotted and paced. There were a few things you could see coming quite far ahead, (particularly regarding Ellie and her life), but that's not always a bad thing and I wouldn't take any credit away from this book for that. The narrator did an excellent job voicing the various characters, and seemed just the right tone for the main character Jocelyn.
Busy mom who loves to read but doesn't always have the time. I enjoy YA, Romance and the occasional Best Seller.
"Hot for a Scot"
I really enjoyed this one. I'm not a huge fan of Highland Romance novels and was a little nervous about this book being set in Scotland. Thankfully it was nothing like I expected and I now understand the allure of the Scottish hero. I really fell for Braden. This book is definitely smexy! Well worth a credit and then some.
4.5 stars
Why can't real life be like books?
"Compelling listen -- Great narration"
I was mesmerized by this book, even though it was difficult at times not to be frustrated by the main character's self defeating inner monologue. What made the book work was the narration by Paula Costello. She was a revelation and kept me listening long past bedtime.
The reviewer who compared this book to 'Bared to You,' must not have read them back to back, as I just did. While sexy, this book is no where near 'Bared to You,' --- if only! It could have been very hot indeed.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
"Swept me away!!!"
EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
I love to be swept into a story and this one did it beautifully. I wanted to listen to it in one sitting. I loved this book!
Well worth the credit!!!!!
