"Great story - Want more"
Would you listen to The Invaders again? Why?Yes, The story keeps you enthralled and gives the story a realistic approach.
Who was your favorite character and why?Hal, He uses his brains while others just use their brawn. By doing this, he helps others find their own abilities.

"waste of time wait for book 3"
What would have made The Invaders better?having the rest of the book would be nice. the storie is great but it leaves one feeling cheated by cuting it so short and ending so crudely. i feel like i just got cheated out of my money on this book.
Have you listened to any of John Keating???s other performances before? How does this one compare?most excellent

"Don't buy! Not whole book."
What would have made The Invaders better?Don't buy this book when it is only 6 hrs 54 mins long. It is not the whole book. It ends at page 243 on a 400+ page book. I re-downloaded it to see if I was mistaken, but I am not. All of his other books are 12+ hours. The parts that were done were incredible. Will be a great book as soon as they get the second part to it.
What could John Flanagan have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?Get the rest of the BOOK

"Great Book"
The only thing that annoys me is that its Viking based and they keep saying Pirates but I feel that vikings would have might have a better word for their time. I keep thinking of british 'golden age' pirates vs Vikings back when Britain was run by saxons. Dons't much matter, this is a great story and I love it.
I love the main character and all his companions. True that nothing truly bad ever happens, but you don't have to worry about falling in love with a character and having them die on you.0 of 0 people found this review helpful -

I am an avid reader (or listener). I love fantasy, fiction, sci-fi, historical fiction, and mystery. I stay clear of the romance genre. I truly appreciate stories that can bring families together such as Ranger's Apprentice (John Flanagan), Brotherband Chronicles (John Flanagan), and The Overland Chronicles (Suzanne Collins).

"Great Family Story!"
If you could sum up The Invaders in three words, what would they be?Exciting! Adventure! Humor!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Invaders?Any arguments between Wulf and Vulf.
What about John Keating’s performance did you like?He has a great accent that draws the reader in and contributes greatly to the creation of the characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?Definitely!
Any additional comments?Engrossed a family with the youngest child of 8 and the adults (whose age I dare not put up here). We sit around listening to it as a family and everyone is laughing and sitting on the edge of their seats. No one wants to turn it off and when my mother says "Time's Up!" Everyone regards her as the most evil creature in the world.
Note:
I am the oldest of 5 girls. This book, typically considered a "boys story" is great for all ages, all genders.
If you like this story, try John Flanagan's "Ranger's Apprentice" series.

"Entertainment continues unabated."
This series was very enjoyable. The narrator was exceptionally consistent in voice for the various characters, making the book come to life. I had purchased this for my boys (ages 10 - 22) to listen to on long trips. As they would play over the car stereo, I got interested and even my wife has been excited to share this adventure with our boys. Another success for John Flanagan.

"An excellent listen this writer-narrator team rock"
What did you like best about this story?The development of each character and the adding of a strong female character really excited me. John Flanagan lets you grow with his characters and as they develop you do too. Great emotional connection.
What does John Keating bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?The development of voices really adds to each characters persona. Keating really does an excellent job of character development.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?Definately.
Any additional comments?A good read for all ages, very thrilling and moving with great narration.

"Follows the "Rangers Apprentice" formula"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Invaders to be better than the print version?I really enjoyed the audio version on this book, however, I haven't read the print version, so I cannot really provide much of a comparison.
Who was your favorite character and why?I really didn't have a favorite character, as the overall book was well written and the character development was fantastic.
What about John Keating’s performance did you like?His voice and demeanor on the book is something that my family searches for. There are two performers on the Rangers Apprentice series, and John's voice conveyed the characters so much better.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?no
Any additional comments?I really enjoyed this book. The first installment of this book was quite slow moving, which almost turned me off of the series, however, the character development had continued into the second book, which provided a decent amount of depth. The way John F. captures the different personalities and their interactions really impressed me, which led me to listen to this book and definitely the next one when it comes out.
