    "One of the worst performances"
How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator would pause, frequently in the middle of a sentence, as if he needed more energy to continue. It was distracting and ultimately, greatly diminished my enjoyment of the book itself.

    "A . . Disjointed . . Performance"

The story itself is a great story, classic science fiction from a master of the genre. A story worth knowing by anyone interested in science fiction. However, the performance made it difficult to enjoy the story. Munro's style pauses frequently as he reads, but his pauses are often more lengthy than they should be, and occur at someone odd places, breaking the flow of the story greatly.

For the price, it's worth listening, but if you're really wanting to enjoy the story, look for a different narration.

"Timeless story--reading is a bit slow"
What did you love best about The Time Machine?

Wells' novella is the classic forerunner of time travel stories.

What did you like best about this story?

A great blend of social commentary with a bit of hard science thrown in.

What aspect of Alan Munro’s performance would you have changed?

His reading is a bit slow--especially for use in the classroom.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The final line is the most moving.

    "Ok story"

The story is somewhat interesting but the reader makes you want to fall asleep.
I'd recommend for a quick read if you are driving and have nothing to do.

"Scientifically Outdated but Should be Read"

The logic used to set up the time machine is flawed by today's science but the thought exercise that Wells takes the listener on is worth the listen. The reader wasn't memorable but didn't get in the way. Having a solid background in science I might have rated harshly due to the flawed logic. But,it should be listened to just with that grain of salt in mind.

"Great listen but not like the movies"
Would you listen to The Time Machine again? Why?

It is great to listen to these books that you really only heard about or saw movies about. Now to listen for the first time you get the "message" of the book as opposed to the movie. If you expect to get the movie in Audible form ... forget it. It is re-markedly different.

What about Alan Munro’s performance did you like?

Great voice. Enhances story and doesn't detract like some performers
