"Tom Clancy (Top Cat)"
Adictive and a delight to move outside of the Ryan tales. For anyone into Clancy make sure you 'do' the Ryan tales before you get this one....then get this one!
"great story"
multiple stories within one plot
the end exactly what I would do
no.he was hard to listen to at first but appropriate for the book.
good luck with that
some couldn't stand the narrator's voice. but it grows on you and yes is appropriate for the story.

"A Marathon Read!"
For those of us who follow the works of Tom Clancy, there would be little surprise in the sheer length of this Book!
I have read criticism of Michael Pritchard's reading style from other Reviewers and after such a long reading I must also say that his voice is probably less suited to such long readings.
At times, I did feel that the detail that Clancy goes into, became just a little tedious!
Normally, I enjoy his expanded descriptions but I think Pritchard's somewhat gravelly voice did get to me on a couple of my longer Drives/Listens.
Overall though, I enjoyed the Book and would therefore recommend it! One thing you can always say about Clancy's Novels is that you get your money's worth!
"Rainbow Six review"
I listened to Without Remorse first which introduced me to John Clark in his early career. I bought Rainbow Six with a lot of hesitation because of the negative review about he narrator.
I have completely enjoyed the book and the narrator. I highly recommend the book and the narrator.
I have bought over 200 books from Audible and this book was really enjoyable. Buy it if you want a nice long listen that is loads of fun.
I listen to approximately 25 hours per week and have downloaded over 400 books on Audible. Mostly I like mysteries, fantasy and scifi.
"Not really part of Jack Ryan series"
In fact, his name is never mentioned although I'm pretty certain he is the President that some refer to in the book. I thought this would be along the lines of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series but it's not as action packed, which probably means that it is more realistic. I appreciate the story that Tom Clancy likes to put in his books but I really think he could condense the story to make it more tension filled and less to weed through. It all comes together in the end but it's a long path to get there.
"Enjoyable"
This was a fun listen. Clancy belabors some of the character perspectives to gain the odd "eye roll" from me, but overall a pretty fun book. The slang is something near to Ozzy and Harriet meet the Mod Squad, and not anything like people talk today; and the narrator is really choppy and boring. Overall, worth the four stars, but I will try another Clancy book to see if I can give 5 stars.

"Excellent action interspersed with...."
Let me start out by saying the action sequences in this book (especially the Theme Park) are first rate. The members of the team are believable and Clancy can certainly write a fight.
The story is a long shot to believe, as you will see. You sort of have to suspend disbelief, any reader will recognize that even for Clancy this is pretty unlikely stuff. I'm not really spoiling the book since you'll figure this out in the first 2 hours but it's a tale of a special counter-terrorism unit that basically forms up and then immediately has tons of business. It gets explained why, but the unrealistic thing is that an outbreak of terror attacks like happen in the novel would likely cripple the Western world, whereas in the book it just trips along.
The thing that made me really irritated is the "sleuthing" factor. All of Clancy's heroes and villains are always at the top of their game - best at everything, great shots, fluent in multiple languages, etc etc etc. But there is this stupid theme in the book where a few clues are dropped and whether it's the good guys thinking about the bad guys or the bad guys thinking about the good guys they pretty much guess right every time.
So every time a few characters are speculating about the opposition it's like Sherlock Holmes on steroids. The next sentence is not a spoiler (as all will become apparent in the first few chapters) but an example: Hmm, this operation seemed expensive and involved money, drugs, and terrorists. Therefore it must be a rogue American pharmaceutical corporation with a former KGB spy working for them. Bingo.
It gets a little tiresome, and you pine for Clancy's descriptions of training and operation deployments.
I absolutely love my audible account, makes its from enjoying a book to loving the stories found in the books. Do forgive my errors in the reviews i do have dyslexia but i will share my love with everyone
"A book that inspired the video game series"
This is his first book Clancy wrote that does not have Jack Ryan even mentioned by name. if you fallow the series you know who he is, but if you don't and just want to start here, well there is a few hints that lets the rest of us know.
Knowing how scary but effective Clark and Chavez are then a whole book dedicated to this amazing team would make things even better.
Clark puts together a team of some of the greatest military units. they are training for two teams of counter terrorism. the cold war is over and there are not many terrorists active anymore but its always better to be safe then sorry.
A former KGB agent is hired to go to his old contacts and stir things up, unknown to him there is a new anti terrorist unit in town.
Some of the things that are different in this Clancy novel compared to most of his others is that its more even a read all the way through and not a snowball effect.
If you never have read a Clancy novel before this is a great one to start with, it has the excitement and adventure and is a great bait to the lure.
"Long but nice"
This is an ok story. It is quite long and it takes some resilience to finish the story but at the end you care about the characters. It took me a while to eventually get through the entire book because there is a lot of explanations regarding surroundings which is a bit excessive. The narrator as well took some getting used to for me. Might be ok for someone else.
"good story disappointing narrator"
Intriguing story but the narrator was not the best. Not much difference in character voices made it hard to figure out who was talking. Aside from the narrator I did enjoy the story.
Just as a side note Audible needs to have two separate ratings for the story and the narrator. I would've given the following in that case.
Story 5 stars once I get past the voices I enjoyed the ride.
Narrator 3 stars not bad just not as entertaining as some of the others I've heard.
