The Morning Read from The Wall Street Journal, 1-Month Subscription

I've been been subscribing to Audible's WSJ for over a year now, and have found this to be a great resource to maximize one's time. I found that I was often not able to get through the print edition for lack of time, but with audible's edition of WSJ, I can listen in the car or exercising. Delivery has almost always been there in the morning so good for morning commutes. Friday's edition also includes the extra weekend edition, which includes movie reviews and wine commentary, which are enjoyable features to hear.

I've been listening to the morning read of WSJ for three weeks now. I've never been able to read it at work given the hectic environment but was always getting asked questions about various articles. The synopsis format is very effective in keeping me up to speed on most important items. One improvement however might be to include all of the front page bullets so listeners know to follow up on items not gone over in detail if needed.

I have subscribed to the WSJ Morning Read for four months, and I listen to it every morning while I walk my dogs. I really need this information because I work as a financial advisor, and I would like to go to the office in the morning feeling as though I have "read" the Wall Street Journal. However, I am beginning to feel that the Morning Read includes too much opinion and not enough hard news. I also subcribe to the WSJ Home Delivery and the Online Journal. Over the next few weeks, I am going to compare these news sources to the Morning Read, and write again with some specific examples.

For those who equate newspaper news with USA Today, you may wish to pass. However, if you find the articles in the printed edition of The WSJ "newsworthy" and you'd enjoy having a broad selection of those articles in a one-hour format, then you'll enjoy this subscription.

The Morning Read from The Wall Street Journal is not a substitute for the paper, but it will help you catch up on select articles while commuting or running around town. No audio version of a newspaper with a length of only one hour will contain all of the articles of interest to you... but The Morning Read does an excellent job of picking a wide variety of articles that give one the gist of what's covered in the print edition.

Now that I am unable to read printed matter anymore, Audible's Wall Street Journal Morning Read is a great boon but Oh, how I wish it gave us more editorial page content and less of those long,long "in depth" features focusing on minute aspects of corporate mergers, management scandals, etc. The WSJ editorials are the best of any U.S. newspaper, please give us more of them!

I was wholly disappointed. The tape could have been recorded a week (or months) earlier given its lack of timely news. The rougly 1-hour audio contains about 8-10 articles (a story or two from each section and an opinion column), each about 6-7 minutes long. Except for the lead story in the Business News and the World News columns, no current events were covered. Comments about the previous day's stock market were under 1 minute. While it might be interesting, DON'T SUBSCRIBE IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE BUSINESS WORLD OR ON WALL STREET.
