"Super!"
This is one of my favorite Star Trek books of all time, in any of the series. The audiobook production heightens the excitement of the actual book. Even though I knew the story well, I couldn't stop listening. Rene Auberjonois gives a superb performance.
Yes, Yes! This is the one Deep Space Nine audiobook you should definitely buy!

"Ahhh, so-so"
Sorry, Richard from Texas, this was NOT "super", IMO. It was ok. Rene Auberjonois was very good - earned five stars. But the storyline was trite. I DID listen to the whole book, but it was certainly not compelling. I am a long-time fan of Star Trek (as is my entire family), but I was left wanting more plot - more story - more excitement. No, I do not recommend this book.
"Gory and Violent"
No, it was extremetly dark, violent and morbid. It takes you in detail through the deaths of many of your favorite characters. It was like a Star Trek bad dream.
No. I did not like the the wording and writing style were odd. The story itself was extremely negative and gruesome.
No, I haven't, but his performance was very enjoyable.
No. It would definitely be rated R if it was made into a movie.
It was a very disappointing audiobook. This seems like a story that was killed by the censors for being too gory for the series, so they wrote a book instead.
"It felt kind of like fan fiction"
If anything I would have preferred if he hadn't tried to do voices. For many of the characters the voices were awkward. The Odo voice was great though and overall the narration was good.
This story felt too much like fan fiction. Much of the dialogue and inner thoughts of the characters didn't fit with the way we know the characters in the series. It just felt a little off in that way. It was also quite short. The publisher has done a very bad job of providing audiobook versions of the Star Trek novels; nearly all of their audiobooks are abridged and there are no audiobook versions of the newer novels. This book and their lack of support for audiobooks overall is disappointing.
