"Not for me, but I loved his other books"
I anxiously awaited the release of this book. I've listened to all of Mr. Rubart's other books, with Rooms being my favorite. I love hearing Mr. Rubart narrate his own books. I think he does a great job!
I was disappointed in this book. It is about spiritual warfare, but it goes to a level that is beyond my comfort zone or doctrinal beliefs. Mr. Rubart did try to use scripture throughout the book to back up the plot, but it didn't work for me because I felt that they were taken out of context. After listening to the author's note at the end of the book, I understand why he did things as he did in his book. He made some valid points about how numbed or blinded we are in today's society towards the spiritual stuff going on around us. I just didn't like how he chose to manifest that awareness in this book. His characters travel into people's souls. Now, they were there to do good, but I felt that what they were doing was part of the Holy Spirit's job.
I would suspect that if you are a person who liked "The Shack" you will probably like this book. I hated "The Shack" so much that I refused to finish it. I won't be listening to any more books in this series. The topic presented as it was just doesn't interest me.0 of 0 people found this review helpful
