It’s all about the food….
For the Robertsons, family is typified by the dinner table, where both food and fables are dished up with equal care. Anyone with a good story - whether it be a hunting escapade or one of the children’s antics - is welcome to share. And that’s what this family is all about - sharing, caring for one another, and the love of good food. Chapters are built around recipes that represent each stage of the Robertson life - chapters like...
An Up-Close View of America’s Favorite Backwoods Family
What do faith, family, ducks, and money have in common? The well-known stars of A&E’s hit show Duck Dynasty - Korie and Willie Robertson! From Louisiana’s bayou comes the story of how the Robertson family went from eating fried bologna sandwiches to consuming fine filet mignon.
Ask anyone in Louisiana, and they’ll tell you that the bayou state’s favorite family doesn’t live in the governor’s mansion but in the backwoods, where the Robertsons’ Duck Commander has become a sporting empire by making top-of-the-line duck calls.
Part redneck logic, part humorous family stories, combined with family-business tips and faith, this book is the inside sneak peek for everything you wanted to know about being a Robertson.
In the pages of this book, you’ll find out things about this lovable family that you won’t see on the popular TV show - such as how the family survived while Miss Kay worked days and left the boys in the care of eight-year-old older brother Alan. You’ll get to know the beautiful Korie Robertson - how she met Willie, what their dating days were like, and how she juggles being a mom to their children, a wife to Willie, and an active partner in the family business.
You’ll get a taste of the Robertson clan’s famous food, through recipes included in each chapter, and you’ll see childhood photos of Willie and Korie, photos of Willie before the beard, and photos of their children and all of the Robertson clan.

"A fan of the show as well as this book."
I just love watching this family on t.v. and now I have really enjoyed this book too. It gives a bit of background of Willie and Jace's younger years, a bit of information of the early marriage of Phil and Kay. It is entertaining and also has a few recipes included. A likable read.
"I can't get enough of the robertson's!"
This is a great listen. The stories are funny and well read.
The background of the family is very interesting, moving and funny, especially Phil & Kay's early struggles and the very different backgrounds of Willie & Korie.
If you watch the show, you will enjoy hearing Willie and Korie's voices. It is great listening to their own experiences.
This will quack you up!
We listened to this on a trip between Michigan and Florida and it made the time go by quickly with many good laughs.
"This book shows just show normal this family is!"
Yes, because it's a wonderful storyline about a real family growing up through struggles, debt, family issues and the usual problems with most Americans. It's great hearing Willie telling stories about he and his brother's rivalries.
How every story and chapter was based on a bible verse and how the family used the verse in real world application.
Willie was my favorite to listen to because he was the younger brother to Jase and told stories of how Jase and Allen both picked on him growing up. I could relate because I'm a younger brother.
Yes, and I did so on a long road trip by myself. It never dulled and always kept me alert. It was a great story of coming from nothing and ending up successful millionaires the "good ole fashion way". I have a tremendous respect for how this family has succeeded. They weren't given breaks, they worked their way to the top due to their Christian upbringings and dedication to succeed.
"excellent"
I would definately listen to more books by the duck commander family. Some parts you could tell they were just reading, but some of it was almost them telling the story without knowing what was previously written.
I loved the recipes at the end of each chapter.
I love the show and it was great to learn more about their family.
"Robertson's are a real family with real values."
Yes to pick up on additional details like recipes!
The fact that Willie and Korie narrated the story.
