Iron Gray Sea: Destroyermen, Book 7

Great book. It advanced the story and had some great action scenes. As always, William Dufris did a great job with all of the voices.

My only issue with the book is that the story has grown so much and there are so many different things going on that it felt a little abridged to me. By the time I was fully invested in one of the side stories, it would jump to another location. Hopefully he will bring some of the characters back together or start writing much longer books!

I will definitely keep following the series.

This book takes place across an entire alternate planet, two wars are being fought in several locations and new characters are being introduced. This cannot happen in a 16 hour book! After anxiously awaiting this book, it left you more on a precipice than the last, no breaks or conclusions to the story line. And so much of the little time is refreshing the reader on character traits, and situational background, very frustrating.
Write longer or wrap up some of the loose ends!
A nice 40 hour book like the King Killer Chronicles would get this book 5 stars.

This is a continuation of a series that I rank in the upper 25 percent of favorites so far. I've listened to a fair number of stories and a equal number of series, and this one does not leave me feeling flat. After seven installments, I like where the storyline is going... even if I cannot accurately predict how it will play out for the individual characters. Perhaps that is half of the fun? Honestly, it is a good 'series' listen, but one cannot enjoy the tale unless the story is heard from the beginning. This is not a stand-alone episode, even for one familiar with the characters. I found myself, in the first hour of the listen, trying to remember who/what/where/when/why. A bit distracting, but easily overcome as memory returned and the delight of the story unfolded.

The narration is gold-standard good; Mr. Dufris is an exceptionally gifted actor and his performance is never stale or disingenuous.

I can't wait to hear how Dennis Silva will save the universe!

Its the usual fun but there is no story structure within the individual book. Its just a piece of a bigger novel. It just stops. It doesn't end

When a new book comes out in this series I listen to the whole lot from the start. It sure shortens the long miles.

Taylor Anderson has put together a great group of characters. I like forward to each new book.

I like Brad Garrett

He bring the characters more to life. Each character has his or her own voice in the story.

The death of Flin's rangers

Hey, it's a great series to listen to while you are running down the road, and this installment is actually one of the better ones, although Anderson does tend to get bogged down in character development a little more than I care for.
He has a pretty good grasp of tactics and a great wealth of knowledge regarding seagoing minutia making the books a great listen. I keep buying them, so they have to be pretty good. I'd like to see a lot less talk and a little more action.
Mr. Dufris does a good job. Very consistent in the overall cadence and tone of the story.
If you are looking for a fun series to listen to, one not requiring any "in depth" thinking about, this is a great one, especially if you enjoy a good war story.

One of the most enjoyable of the hundreds I have listened to. The developement of the characters and emotion of the story line is great.

Cant wait for the next book in the series - hurry!

The characters are all well defined, sometimes predictable, but still providing a good storyline

As I said, I have never really been a sci-fi fan, but this series has gripped my imagination. About the only downside that I have had a issue with is that in Iron Grey Sea, the audio level was a lot lower. I drive a truck for a living, so I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and books 1 thru 6 were fine, but this one was so hard to hear over the truck noise.
