Communication Problems
Basil has to contend with Mrs. Richards, a deaf battle-axe who leaves her hearing aid 'off' to conserve batteries. But even his whispers are picked up by Sybil, especially when it comes to a certain horse running in a certain race.
The Hotel Inspectors
News that hotel inspectors are in the area sends Basil into a frenzy of excessive rudeness and then, believing one of the guests is an inspector, excessive fawning.
Basil the Rat
Manuel has a new pet, but Basil thinks the 'Siberian Hamster' is nothing more than a rat, just what he doesn't need with a public health inspector on the loose.
The Builders
Basil soon finds out why O'Reilly and his men come cheap when he scraps Sybil's builder in favour of his own. Will he be able to repair the damage before Sybil returns?

"The Greatest !"
Possibly the funniest series ever!
John Cleese, Connie Booth, Prunella Scales et al.
Cleese wrote the first 6 shows with Booth (his then wife......who, by the by, is American.) The series was so popular that BBC begged for 6 more episodes. Cleese and Booth (now divorced) got together and brought us 6 more gems of comic genius.
The Major, Manuel ( who narrates the series in letters to his Mom ), Chef......they are all here! To my surprise I found that I enjoyed the audio version more than the televised show.
If you are serious about funny, you will get the whole series post haste!
I already have these. You lucky Audible Listeners!
"The Ultimate Classic of Comedy"
Comedy is defind in Fawlty Towers. The writing is superior and the casting of the characters was perfect.
John Cleese is one comic perfect !!
This is the only comedy that is very greatly enjoyed by either watching it or listening to it !!
British comedy is the best and bightest when it uses it's dry and wildly funny wit, as found in Fawlty Towers.
I know that you will come across people in your world that appear in Fawlty Towers. Have a super terrific time as you listen to Fawlty Towers ... Manuel, manuel, MANUEL !!!!!
"Introductions add to the enjoyment"
Cleese' preambles before each episode and together with Manuel's commentary and scene-setting make these editions even more delightful
"Fawlty Towers"
Classic John Cleese. There are many visual aspects of the show that are lost by simply listening to the program, but still entertaining for fans.
"No pictures"
Even though it is a TV series, it is still very funny. Maybe it is because you remember the pictures when your hear the sound. I did anyway.
"The Wonderful Faulty Towers"
I loved the witty banter between the characters and the hilarious happenings at Faulty Towers. It was very enjoyable to listen to and each voice was a pleasure to hear.
When Mrs Richards was annoying everyone in Faulty Towers by complaining about losing money. It was hilarious! It really is all very funny. The sarcastic humour is wonderful .
Basil is my favourite character. Love him!!! I spent so much time laughing at him. He is such a lively sarcastic character that you cannot fail to laugh along with this audible.
Where Not To Go On Your Holidays
Go buy this!!! Wonderful tv series and still wonderful on this audible version. Very funny ,sarcastic, comic capers in this program. Love it !!!! There is always some disaster or near disaster happening at the Faulty Towers which makes all the staff and guests shine in their performances in this show. The characters really are wonderful . Each character has a distinct enjoyable voice that is a pleasure to listen to . At the beginning of this audible you get to hear John Cleese( one of the Monty Python guys) explain the inspiration behind writing Faulty Towers. It was a lovely way of beginning this audible.
"A few chuckles, very few"
Somehow this just didn't do it for me. I am fan of most British comedy and especially anything related to Python, but I just couldn't sit through all of this.
