In this collection of 30 tall tales, McManus introduces you to the perils of Trailer Trials and Mean Tents. Like Hemingway, McManus hunts the big fish in "Down and Way Out in Brazil". The title tale, "The Grasshopper Trap", unveils an ingenious invention for catching fish bait in motion. And in "Hunting Camp Etiquette", McManus becomes a rustic Miss Manners.
Narrator Norman Dietz adds additional spice to each impish line. You won't want to miss the other audio productions of McManus' works, including Never Sniff a Gift Fish and The Night the Bear Ate Goombaw.

"McManus captures the innocence most of us lose when we become grown up, and reading him you can't help recalling similar times and events in yor own life." (Booklist)
"Good enough to listen to over and over"
I listen to it ALL the time
The title story. Pat McManus is a superb humor writer and Norman Dietz does a fabulous job with the voicing and the narration.
I have chosen books BECAUSE he is the narrator. I think he's one of the best.
I have listened to it more than 100 times (no exaggeration) and I still laugh.
I realize not everyone
"Great Humor"
An audiobook by Patrick McManus always makes the commute to and from work an enjoyable experience. Time flys and I don't even mind being stuck in traffic. You do have to be careful listening while driving, because some of the stories are so funny you could lose control of the car. I really enjoy his style of writing and his humor.
