Remembering Whitney: My Story of Love, Loss, and the Night the Music Stopped

I am a huge Whitney fan and it was so insightful to hear from her mother what she was truly like.

The only problem I had with this selection, is that Cisssy Houston spent a fair amount of time talking about her own life. I really did think that this would be exclusively about Whitney.

Oh wow! I couldn't help but cry while listening to this book. I am really struggling to review this personal story of a mother's love and tragic loss! This is truly a beautiful story even though it breaks my heart.

Amazing, courrageous mother!

Ms. Cissy Houston, of course! As a mother of 5 and grandmother of 8, i totally understand what she went through, the pain, the worries, the sleepless nights, the love to her children. The love and worries doesn't end with our children, it continues when we start having grandchildren. It's like starting all over.

Ms. Robin Miles is the lady who read the book, huh? Well, let me tell you. She read that book as if she was Ms. Cissy. She represented Ms. Cissy so well it's just amazing. Ms. Miles should be reading your books if the authors cannot read them. She puts her heart into the story and keeps your interest. There has been books that i buy and then don't read when i hear the booring voice of the reader. Even some authors read so horribly you want to stop reading, example: andy williams. i love his singing voice, but his reading voice is just a no no!

Yes, when her son called her to inform her that Whitney was dead. I cried so much at that moment.

I love Ms. Cissy and Ms. Miles. Two amazing ladies.

It was just a good enjoyable book. It's a book you want to keep listening to.

This is a very touching story told from a mother's perspective. I was surprised at how much information Mrs. Houston shared in the book about her daughter; she held nothing back. I have much respect for Mrs. Houston and I am still sorry for her loss.

The class contained in Cissy's written word. She told what appeared to be the TRUE story about her beloved daughter which was really interesting: how she was raised, how her weaknesses (or feelings of inadequacy?) perhaps led to her drug use. Coming from a middle class working home with 2 supporting parents, it's amazing how drug use became bad habits of all 3 children.

This is my first audiobook I have listened to and the experience was remarkable. The emotion expressed made me feel like I was listening to Mrs Cissy Houston describe her life with her family and her remarkably gfted daughter.

The entire Houston family played a pivotal role in the entire book.
