I Loved it!

It was a very realistic story with Roxanne (main character) struggling between being the highly successful entrepreneur and succumbing and admitting that she may possibly have fallen 'in love' with a man she has only just met. My least favorite part of the story would be the sarcasm between the characters was a bit heavy and tiring and I thought Roxanne should lighten up a bit. But then, that is me mirroring my own personality into someone else's I would guess.

I love Destiny Landons voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She totally took the character of Roxanne and made it her own. She "IS" Roxanne! Lee was a perfect romantic counterpart, angling her combative nature with the right playfulness in his tone that the writer expertly devised in their dialogue.

Absolutely! I wanted to find out if Bram actually did get to kiss Roxanne on New Years Eve! (No .. I won't tell anyone) and I wanted to find out where she ended up after the 'wonderful climax'. There are a few turns that make you sad for the couple, but all ends well .

This is a must "listen" to all you fellow listeners who really enjoy well executed, combative foreplay and well written/descriptive literature.

Sassy, Smart, FunnyMs. Chase has a real gift for presenting heroines who are intelligent women and who can hold their own with any man. Roxanne can out-think and outsmart just about any guy, but the handsome and personable Bram is just as clever.

The heroine Roxanne Murdoch. She's smart and funny and sexy with just the right amount of vulnerability. Oh, but I loved Bram too. He's not just a pretty face either -- he has the greatest sense of humor.

Every scene where you have Roxanne and Bram talking. Great dialogue.

I've gotta say one thing first - Whatever you hear in the "audio sample" on these audio books, is pretty much what you're going to hear throughout the book. And that has been the case with every book I've purchased so far. Special Delivery is a perfect example of this. The audio book sample is humorous, clever and has both the male and female verbal and mental foreplay which is the pattern in this book from author, Elaine Chase.

Elaine's characters are thoroughly developed; they all have heart, some sort of emotional wall up, baggage, shortcomings, strengths, a sense of humor and attributes that make you both hate them and adore them.

Destiny Landon has a melodic and exceptionally pleasing and deeply rich voice as she narrates the career-minded, stubborn Roxanne Murdoch, with just the right amount of sexiness that sounds quite innate and unaffected, which I really do find to be a huge plus in a romance story. In romance genres, it is important that the author choose the right voice 'range', and lower registers are always the best choice to add to the warmth of the narration, just as Destiny possesses. Lee James' performance was a nice contrast with his grittier, masculine narration. The chemistry was strongly felt in this audio book and parts played out really well. Bram was entertaining and humorously witty.

The title was cleverly woven into the story's ending, which made me 'laugh one big guffah'. You will not have guessed this in a million years. Guaranteed!

My favorite part was new years eve, of course, and Bram's clever escapades in an effort to win Roxanne's heart - permanently. It was admirable how Roxanne never seemed to take the easy way out. She wanted to do what she thought was right; not taking advantage of people, and working her way up to the top. The book is full of conversation, and 'one-upsmanships' between the potential lovers (see .................. I didn't ruin for the rest of you guys!!)

Elaine Raco Chase’s work is perfectly suited to the audiobook form, her conversation is so alive, so quick witted and responsive that you will feel as if you are overhearing the interaction from your seat. This book flips the traditional “romance” feel on its ear: Bram is the one who is open, direct and first to admit to being smitten with Roxanne. While Roxanne is more reserved, dragging her Pullman car of baggage and fear from her last relationship forward.

Bram is the vice president of the bank that extended Roxanne a loan for her business: telegrams delivered in costume. When her employee couldn’t make her assignment, Roxanne steps in to fill the appointment: a Belly-Gram that the employees of the bank have ordered to celebrate Bram’s new promotion. Roxanne appears and presents a sensual belly dance that impresses everyone, especially Bram.

Unfortunately for both Roxanne and Bram, the mild snowfall turns into a massive blizzard, and they are stranded in the bank while Minneapolis digs out. Then the sparks begin to fly. Slowly but surely Bram convinces Roxanne that there is no “standard time frame” for falling in love, and taking the chance is more than worth it all.

Like all of the books by this author, the characters are well defined, voiced and always clever. Conversational patois and pacing are among the best out there that I have read, with moments that will have you laughing out loud or reaching out to whap someone in the back of their head for being so stubborn. The chemistry in this book was slower to grow than in others, but that just made the scenes that much more steamy for the palpable sexual tension.

The dual narrations of Destiny Landen and Lee James worked well for the characters: Lee has a voice that is fine-grit sandpaper smooth, and always has the hint of a smile behind it, while Destiny manages to fall into a voicing for Roxanne that is fitting and pleasant. I particularly liked the musical interludes between chapters, they enhanced rather than distracted from the storyline. I did have a few moments with some mispronounced words, but those were minor and did not distract overall from the storyline. I will admit that I am a fan of this author’s work, and really do enjoy her work translated into the audiobook format.

First, Roxanne has to dress as a harem girl to deliver a message because her employee gets hurt. Then she and the recipient of the message get snowed in and it is just the two of them, lots of funny banter, steam, and the question: How long does it take to fall in love with someone? The two characters were great and this was just a fun, entertaining story.

The audio was very well done. The two narrators were entertaining to listen to and the music and sound effects were a nice touch.

I guess when I purchased this story, I must have only read a couple of great reviews and missed the bad ones. This story was in the erotica section. It was not erotic at all. I don't think even better narrators could have made this story into 4 or 5 stars.

No. And please don't have Lee James ever narrate another romance. He was so inappropriate it's not even funny.

Lee James sounds like he's in his 80's and was supposed to be a man in his 30's. He was a really, really bad choice for this type of book.

Destiny was average but Lee was very boring to listen to.

A plot would have made it more enjoyable. I could not even finish it, which is rare for me.

I have as yet to listen to another book by this author, I have one and will get to it soon. It can surely only be an improvement

From the first syllable, Destiny Landon's voice was like listening to a cat cough up a fur ball, you would do almost anything to make it stop!

All of them, they were shallow and vacuous, helped not at all by the female narrator. I could not even bring myself to wait for the sex scenes, the price was too high.

I'm sorry, but Lee James' voice doesn't sound like a guy who is in his mid-30's, I had to replay Bram's description to make sure he wasn't as old as James sounded. I forced myself to listen to the book in its entirety, but it was torture. Landon's narration at times was too overly "come hither" or a bad attempt at being sly and seductive.

The recording also doesn't flow, you can hear where parts were cut and placed together or where the recording was stopped and then started to switch between narrators. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this multiple narration book as I have with others. I am hoping that reading the book itself will be more enjoyable.
