Emma and her friend Chloe are spending vacation in Florida. When Emma (literally) runs into a hot guy named Galen on the beach, little does she know he's a prince of the Syrena. "Intriguing, Funny, and Sweet!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Of Poseidon to be better than the print version?I don't think so. If I could go back, I think I would probably buy the print edition. (reasons listed below)
What other book might you compare Of Poseidon to and why?Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini. It had a very similar feel to it. Also, they both are full of Greek mythology.
Which character – as performed by Rebecca Gibel – was your favorite?Emma. She did a really great job capturing her personality.
Any additional comments?I really enjoyed the idea of the Syrena ("They're NOT MERMAIDS!!" lol) and wish that we would have learned more about them in this book. However, it is the start of a series so I'm sure we'll get more in depth in the following books. I did figure out the big "surprise" about halfway through the story, so it wasn't especially suspenseful.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Galen and Emma. Galen was hot (of course) and funny and sweet, and Emma had a hard time resisting him. I sometimes felt that Emma was being overly dramatic (the opening scene for example), but she was sweet and I did like her. I also really liked all of the secondary characters, especially Galen's "family." I had two slight complaints with the book, but I think the fact that I listened to the audio version is mostly to blame for both of them. First was that It was difficult to tell when the book was switching between Emma's and Galen's point of view. Secondly, It was also difficult to tell when there was a break in the story. Thankfully it wasn't so annoying as to take away from my enjoyment of the book.4 of 4 people found this review helpful -
"Not what I was expecting... in a good way"
If you could sum up Of Poseidon in three words, what would they be?Cant wait for the next one. I was super surprised how much I liked this book. It was a different book than I am used to. It keep me asking my self questions at each turn and then wanting more. Must listen too.!
