Straight from the authors mouth! Recorded at The Everyman Theatre in Liverpool in 1994, this recording has all the poignancy and wit of the hit film, combined with the intimacy of a solo show.
This production also contains an interview with Willy conducted by the poet Roger McGough.

"A charming play"
A reading of "Shirley Valentine" by the author Willy Russell. This funny and ultimately joyful play is a perfect choice for audio presentation, and we come to learn of the successful midlife crisis of a wife and mother from the London suburbs. Mr. Russell does a splendid reading of his own play, and the gender switch is not at all distracting. Pauline Collins did an equally good job in the onstage and movie versions (both of which were also superb) and I also recommend you try to find the movie on video. But don't miss this Audible production. Tremendous fun!
