"The tours are as informative and interesting as any guided tour I have taken in Paris." (The Washington Post )
"Concise and interesting....This program is well worth your listening attention, if not your walking shoes." (AudioFile)
"Memorable"
I just returned from a brief trip to Paris, and took the opportunity to take two of the four walking tours in this title. I was startled, enlightened, and entranced by the depth and unusual interest of the narration in this tour. It took me to places I'd been and showed me so much more; it took me to new places that I would never have seen in a standard tourist trip. Highlights included the Jewish section of Paris, and the church of St. Julien le Pauvre, across the Seine from Notre Dame. It's a leisurely stroll; you don't walk far in each tour, and there are plenty of opportunities and recommendations for break points to shop or eat. I'll never forget this Paris trip, thanks to this title! A wonderful use for the Audible technology.
"Excellent audio commentry"
I have been to Paris about twice a year for the past five years as I just love the city and the people. This audio guide is fantastic. I have listened to it a couple of times now and I am not even due to leave for Paris for another three days! There is a drawback though - not in the guide but in the format which it is presented here. You have no clear idea where the walks are going to take you as you lack the important items the "real" guide has if you bought it from a shop - the illustrated maps. This is not a major problem though and I am getting over it by going though the guide once more with a city map to hand so I can note down the routes.
