English Pronunciation Program

Please be aware that there are major pronounciation differences between British English and American English; this volume is intented for people studying American English (where both "car" and "clock" are pronounced with the same short "a" sound as in "father"). I use it with my Japanese student and so far it's been helpful. There are 60 lessons at about one minute each. My only complaint is that when you burn it to a CD it randomly creates 10 tracks at about 7 minutes each. This makes it difficult to navigate and often the tracks break within a single lesson.

I like this book! It has really helped me to reduce my accent. If I could also read these words it would be better.

I only listened as far as Chapter 7, so there may be even more errors in this book than I am mentioning here.
Chapter 7 gives the wrong pronunciation information. According to the English phonic script used in most dictionaries, CAR and CLOCK have two different vowel sounds, however in this book they are treated as the same sound.
If you want to learn correct English pronuciation, don't use this book.

I downloaded this book after seeing customer ratings, but this book is not at all useful for me.The book starts with english sound from a phonetic chart and ends with the last sound in the chart.The complete book has only phonetic sounds narrated one after another.It has been read in hurry and you cannot practice while listening to it. The book has very less details on pronunciation.I might be feeling this way because I have already seen BBC videos on pronunciation.I believe any other audio book on pronunciation will be better or same.
