He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing but I do. I so do. I don't understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction....
In the best-selling style of Fifty Shades of Grey, Lisa Renee Jones delivers sexy thrills and heart-pounding sensuality with a tantalizing pause resistor in which the eyes of a high school English teacher are opened to a world she never knew existed, and she finds a passionate craving within that she never knew she possessed.
The journal comes to Sara McMillan by chance, when she inherits the key to an abandoned storage locker belonging to a woman named Rebecca. Sara can't resist peeking at the entries in the journal...and she finds a scintillating account of Rebecca' affair with an unnamed lover, a relationship drenched in ecstasy and wrapped in dark secrets.
Obsessed with discovering Rebecca' destiny after the entries come to an abrupt end, Sara does more than observe the players in the woman's life; she immerses herself in the high-stakes art gallery world Rebecca inhabited - and is magnetically drawn to two men. Which one seduced Rebecca with his masterful and commanding touch and brought her fantasies to exquisite life? On a daringly erotic escapade, Sara follows Rebecca's path to fulfill her own hidden longings. But after she tastes the forbidden pleasures Rebecca savored, will Sara be helpless to escape the same submissive fate?

"Fantastic"
This is a hot book with a fun plot. I enjoyed listening to it and trying to figure out what would happen next. The sex scenes left me in full blush with a smile on my face, and that's a good thing! The ending just plain sucks. It is literally in the middle of the book. Nothing has been sewn up, not even a stitch, and the book just ends! With, I might add, creepy music. What a let down. I try not to select books that are part of a series and not written/recorded. I would wait to get this until the others are out. It leaves you hanging and let down. The book is awesome, we just need the other ones, and the editor chose a poor breaking point.
Wild about books.
"Unfair catch, but a great story!!!!!!!!!!"
This book never tells you it is going to stop in the middle of a great part. It just does. I mean it just stoped out of nowhere. I like to be told that it is part of a set, then I can make up my mind if I want to invest time to wait on next book, or invest money in a set of books. The book was great lots of twist and turns. Plus all the hot, hot, hot, did I say hot sexy stuff to keep you looking to make sure noone can see you flush bright red and turn the fan on high. It also had a great voice to go with it. BUT don't trick me into a book that needs two more that aren't out till June and Sept. I hate tricks.
Busy mom who loves to read but doesn't always have the time. I enjoy YA, Romance and the occasional Best Seller.
"Art, Wine and Erotica....I loved it!"
This book has been described as "mystery meets erotica" or "Fifty Shades meets Storage Wars". Either way I thought it was a great listen. Whenever I read/listen to erotic romance I always worry there will be little or no plot. That is not the case in this book. It had a great story (what would it be like to live someone else's life) and super HOT sex scenes!! (I mean very hot and intense!!!) You have to wait awhile for the sex, but that's okay because there is really good build-up to that point.
Just one note of caution....this is a trilogy and this first installment leaves us with a huge cliffhanger. I definitely thought this book was worth a credit. Excellent narration, great story and yummy sex.
"What an Ending"
Looks like we'll have to wait until June, when Ms. Jones next book, Being Me is released. I'm just hoping it'll pick up from the storage unit where it left off.
This books story line flows comfortably, easy to follow and keeps your interest. It's one of those who dunits that keeps you wanting to know more.
Well worth the credit.
Glad to have found audible. I listen all day long while I work in my glass studio. Melting glass on a blowtorch is visual and the books allow me extra stimulation while I am working.
"Your kidding me!!!"
I would have appreciated an ending not just a sudden stop! It ends like a traffic accident! Crash and then......?????? what?????
I don't mind a book ending in suspense but no questions are answered! You are left with a mystery and no real clues. You just need to wait for the next book. I expected to read a book and not be left frustrated and pressured to purchase the next one......
"MAD!! Don't buy until the full triolgy is complete"
I am SUPER ANGRY. I would have given it 5 stars as the story was amazing however I have to agree with some of the other people who reviewed it and agree that nothing was answered not one single thing. Not giving us anything to look forward too. I am angry because at least with the FSoG series you get something in each book which builds to the next one and little by little the story line develops and unfolds, making you want to continue I am not sure if I will continue with this series as of yet. Or wait until it is completely finished. I have never read/listened to a story that leaves you with absolutely nothing to go on. Just leaves you hanging....I wish I would have used my credit on something else and waited until it was completed.
The narrator was great!
Advice : Wait until all three books are done before purchasing any that way you won't have to wait for months and months for rest.
Wow. I have never written a review so quick that is how out of sorts I am right now!
"Excellent"
Great book... but did leave us hanging. The sequel isn't due out for months. I had read this book in late 2011 but with the release of an audio version, I jumped at getting it as well. I enjoyed it as much as the read version.
Lots of story to clear up in the sequel.
"Everything is left undone. Please have a sequal..."
No, not unless there's a follow up
The end...there is NO closure on any of the main topics or minor ones. Very frustrating!
Average narrator
Yes and no....yes if there's a follow up. No if there isn't!
"Engaging"
Lip biting suspense.
The cliffhanger ending.
Melodic, expressive, ranged
I was no more drawn into this book than any other.
This was my first audiobook and it was a whopper. I wish I would have known that the story was the first in a series yet to be completed, I may have saved the book for later when I could devour them all together!
"Really.....?? You have got to be kidding me!"
I thought the book was very good, had me hanging on the edge of my seat most of the time. I was always thinking can't wait to find out about...., and where does this fit in, why is this like this!
That it kept you hanging on wanting to know more with every chapter.
This was the first, she was enjoyable.
What I didn't like most about the book is I didn't know it would literally stop in the @#$% middle!! No warning just......*&^%!!
