She's a mortal cursed with dark power....
After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: a terrifying ability to channel electricity and to see a person's darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude ... until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world's most infamous vampire.
He's the Prince of Night....
Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all - but whatever you do, don't call him Dracula. Vlad's ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him: a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, passion ignites, threatening to consume them. It will take everything they have to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

"EXCITING NEW SERIES"
This first book in Jeaniene Frost's new series is excellent! Tavia Gilbert does her normal fabulous job with Vlad's accent. Lots of action and killing and fire from Vlad. Leila is a very interesting character and has some very cool powers of her own even though she is just human. Of course nobody can write a love scene like Jeaneine and woooo does she do Vlad proud with this one. LOL I hope we don't have to wait a full year for the next book because that's just too long to wait for such a great story. You have to listen to this if you are a Jeaniene Frost Night Huntress fan!! I'll be listening to it again very soon.
"Kept me listening"
Interesting, quarky, adventure
one of my favorite tings about this story was that. honestly, there was not automatica falling in love, i'm SUPER excited for the 2nd book (Twice Tempted) to see how Lela and Vlad's relationship turns out. I was hooked I loved the fact that she use carnies in the story to cover up some of the "freaks" in the book and the fact that Vlad did NOT like being called Dracula and corrected them every chance he got.
She had voices down! I liked the way I could tell when ever I was listening who's part she was reading, everyone had a different voice!
I did want to listen in one sitting but..... I had work so i listened to it every break I had, every time I got in the car, and before I went to sleep. Finished in 2 days
I read this book because I saw it in the "Stories You Might Like" section.. (Big fan of Kresley Cole's IAD and Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld and Alien Huntress books)
was skeptical at first cause I like paranormal romance stories that aren't vampire stories BUT I most likely will read this again before the 2nd book is released
"LOVED it from the beginning"
I am a BIG fan of Jeaniene Frost and her night huntress series.
I thought i would read something similar to her earlier books, but no, i got hocked from the beginning with.... well i can't say with what... you have to have a listen.
ENJOY!!!!!!!
And to Jeaniene Frost, Thanks and waiting for the next book while I am still reading this one.
Cheers
"Great visit to this worldq"
This is a great expansion on the Cat and Bones world. One of the two main characters is one of my favorite minor characters from the Cat and Bones books. The book was packed with action and the female main character was extemely likeable. There were cameo appearances by Cat, Bones, Menchares, and Kira. A more in depth look at Vlad's house was a very welcome addtion to these books. Tavia Gilbert did a great job as a narrator.
I am the mother of a special needs child. Finding Audible has been a great way to relax and "be elsewhere" for a while. I enjoy paranormal romance, suspense, thrillers, and horror genres.
"Another great one from Frost!!!"
Another great story, although the ending surely leaves room for another book. Which I can't wait to read. I have yet to be disappointed with any of Frosts books.
Well worth the credit!!
"GREAT BEGINNING TO SERIES:)"
YEP MOST DEFINITELY:)
THE WHOLE THING..LOVED VLAD...THAT GUY IS A TRIP. THE AUTHOR HAS ONE HECK OF A SENSE OF HUMOR:) THE CHARACTERS BLENDED WELL WITH ONE ANOTHER.
PARTS WHERE VLAD HAD HIS SARCASM..FUNNY STUFF!
THERE REALLY WASNT ONE PART IN PARTICULAR..LOVED THE WHOLE BOOK.
THE LADY WHO DID THE AUDIO DID A GREAT JOB...ESP WHEN IT CAME TO SOUNDING LIKE VLAD. LOVED IT...LOOK FORWARD TO WHEN THE BOOK 2 COMES OUT:)
I am easily amused!
"This is a HOT One!"
Read from June 26 to 27, 2012
I feel like I waited for this book for years! I love Vlad and was thrilled he was getting his own story. Jeaniene Frost has done it again! I was worried that no woman would be good enough for Vlad but Leila is perfect for the old guy. She has just the right amount of angst so she won't be a pushover and a touch of innocence and vulnerability that will make her likeable.
This book has the same successful recipe that all of Ms. Frost's books have that makes it a lovely blend of romance and urban fantasy, seasoned with enough steamy scenes and gory battles to keep me mesmerized.
A lot of people are complaining about the end but I liked the conclusion. My only issue is that the book is way to short and that the wait will be excruciating.
Tavia Gilbert performs flawlessly and keeps the accents of so many characters consistent and believable. She has such emotion while she reads I bet the sound crew was blushing during some scenes.
Busy mom who loves to read but doesn't always have the time. I enjoy YA, Romance and the occasional Best Seller.
"Team Vlad all the way!"
I absolutely loved this book! Just when I think I'm completely finished with all vampire stories, I listen to a Jeaniene Frost book and I'm in love with this genre all over again. I wasn't really excited to hear Vlad's story but I'm so glad I did. Now I can't get enough! I'm so looking forward to the next book.
Paranormal-urban fantasy book lover!
"Vlad is Smokin' Hot..."
Sexy, daring, hot.
Tavia does a great job with this book. She also narrates the "Night Huntress" series which goes along with this book and she does a fantastic job with the entire series.
Another hit from Jeaniene Frost. Listen to the "Night Huntress" series before listening to this book and it will make more sense to you.
"Jeanine Frost!!!"
I love Vlad and the whole crew actually. Can't wait for the next book in the series!!
