"The sad thing is, I like it." (Maurice Sendak)
"Deal of the century!"
For a fraction of the price of the hardcover or e-book version, I got the audiobook, some comic banter between Tom Hanks and Stephen Colbert, and a PDF file with all the illustrations (slightly out of sequence, but not a big deal). It's a lovely story, with rhymes and puns to boot, and the illustrations are just as charming (is that Maurice Sendak saluting the flag at the end?) Since all the proceeds go to charity, I am tempted to buy the e-book version; $1.83 seems too modest a contribution to such a great cause. Well done, Colberty!
"It might be inspirational."
This is the least professional audiobook i've ever listened to. It's also the funniest. I might have been inspired if I wasn't choking on my laughter.

"Wonderful"
This book was a life changer. I need to sit down now and really think about the kind of pole I want to be.
Don't forget to download the PDF with the illustration
"Very cute"
Tom Hanks is wonderful. The PDF is a nice inclusion for an audiobook. The story is VERY short...really just six minutes. But it's sweet and the profits are for charity.
"Best deal in Audiobooks"
Sure. It is only 8 minutes, chock full of puns, and entertaining banter between Stephen Colbert and Tom Hanks at the start.
Don't forget to download the PDF for the illustrations.
Audible has changed my life! Dry , itchy eyes were destroying one of my greatest pleasures - reading. Now I am experiencing books again!
"I Am A Fan (and So Will You!)"
So sad that Maurice Sendak is no longer with us. This book, however, coming out almost literally on the day he died, stands as something of a tribute to his wit and style - and that of Stephen Colbert and Tom Hanks.
I don't want to make a review longer than the book (!), but, shucks, who wouldn't like this??
Science writer in America's heartland
"Cute, funny, patriotic"
The story is funny and cute, and I knew that the money I paid was going to a good cause (America's veterans).
Say something about yourself!
"really cute and funny"
this is cure and funny. it is definitly woth the purchase and tom hanks is the narrator
Rating scale: 5=Loved it, 4=Liked it, 3=Ok, 2=Disappointed, 1=Hated it. I look for well developed characters, compelling stories.
"Worthwhile for what it is"
This was a nice little story and I smiled at the end when the pole learned his true purpose. I'm happy too that the proceeds go to a good cause. I was able to download the PDF pictures which did make it more enjoyable.
So many books, so little time...
"I love Stephen Colbert (And So Can You!)"
This is the must have for the Stephen Colbert fan. You must not only buy this audio book, but also the hardback copy. The proceeds are going to a charity.
What could be better, Tom Hanks reading the heart and soul of Stephen Colbert.
Lovely children's story.
Perhaps he will write a follow up book 50 Shades of a Grey Pole by Stephen Colbert. Now that would be an interesting follow-up book.
