Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack…and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate.

"A 'MUST HAVE' ADDITION TO AN AWESOME SERIES"
This is the prequal to Cry Wolf book 1 in P.B.'s Alpha & Omega series and, although I have already listened to the series so far, it's still a worthy listen because it finally gives us the background to Anna and Charles's story.
Yes, it's short but it packs a lot in - kidnapping, abuse, secrets, trust & respect, pack laws and punishments but we're left with a budding sweet romance between 2 unlikely people that needs lots of tender loving care which is fortunately then carried forward and seen throughout this brilliant series.
Worth a credit? Well, because I'm up-to-date with the series, it was a bit of an indulgence but if you're a fan of the series then it's a must have but I just bought it and saved my credit for a longer more expensive listen.
Addicted to books, especially audiobooks. Read lots and prosper!
"The beginning of the Alpha and Omega"
This short story take place just prior to Cry Wolf and I think is so important to the story line. I'm so thrilled that this is now collected and in place in my iPod playlist and narrated by (**big sigh**) Holter Graham. The story and narration are excellent. It doesn't matter that it's not long - you only wish it was longer - but wait it is - it just slides right into Cry Wolf after all. If you are a fan of Patty Briggs and love the off shoot of the Mercy Thompson series about Anna and Charles, this is a MUST buy.
"Finally the novella at audible"
I read this wonderful story by Patricia Briggs in the On the Prowl anthology years ago. I've rarely had a short story get me so involved and invested in the characters as I was with this one. Even though I've never used my monthly credit on something as short as this, I pre-ordered it when I saw it was going to be available and read by Holter Graham. As always he does a wonderful job and I enjoyed the story just as much the second time around. This is a romantic story but still seems more of an Urban Fantasy than a Paranormal Romance to me. If your looking lots of sex this isn't for you. If you want an very interesting and charming story about the first meeting of a pair of werewolves with some background on the workings and rules of a pack or if you've listened to the other books in the series and want to know how it all began, you should enjoy it. But be prepared to want more of Anna and Charles when you've finished. I'm re-downloading the first novel in the series for a second listen as I write this review .
"Worth a Listen"
Patricia Briggs is a great writer i didn't like this narrator at all he sounded like a drone
Yes, this wasn't my favourite book of the series but it was deferentially worth a listen
I didn't like Holter Graham's rendition of the male lead
this book is already part of a series

"Fabulous Start to an AWESOME Series"
I was so excited when I saw that the prequel was being released in audio....I pre-ordered and put aside what I had been listening to to start this one. Holter Graham does a wonderful job on the narration.
If you have not started the Alpha & Omega series make sure you start with this one....while not absolutely necessary everything will make more sense if you start here.
This is a short on how Anna and Charles meet, and more of Anna's background...and it was such a good story....I had forgotten how much I love this series so listening to this one I had to listen the rest of the series all over again.
"Pricey and short, but good"
Dunno. This is an audio-only experience.
I like the concept of the omega wolf. Nice twist from the standard dominant and submissive wolf "personalities" in these kinds of stories.
This was my first time with Holter and I definitely came away satisfied. :)
This is sort of required reading if you plan to pick up Cry Wolf. As other reviewers mention, it literally ends where Cry Wolf starts. It's totally lame this was part of a novella collection to start, but is being sold as a stand-alone for (basically) full price. But that being said, I really liked it, and I've paid more money for less enjoyment, so if you're interested in a good story, totally worth it.
I read for entertainment and to escape from reality.
"The First Story is finally available - JOY!"
This novella is the start of the alpha and Omega stories. They are about a young woman recently turned werewolf and much older werewolf who becomes her husband. Here is the back story to Anna and Charles. Sort of a love story but really well written fantasy as well. Definitely recommend getting it to read first if you are going to read the rest of the series. It fills in the stories.
"An answer to those questions of before beginning"
Yes, my friends and I have a healthy addition it Urban Fantasy that lives in today's time and with today's sense of humor. This book specifically explains how she was taken care of, why and how things happened, and the actual 1st meeting of Sam and Anna.
Her neighbor was a trip! I don't want to give away any other parts b/c it tells too much but the action/fighting was awesome is how I can sum it up.
The Only one's I've listened to were the other Alpha and Omega stories and he does REALLY well to me. I like the way he voices Sam, he really does sound like how I would see him sounding. Also does a very good job with the other voices too.
I wouldn't say there was a specific part moved me as much as it just made the other stories make more sense than they did the 1st time I listened to them.
I didn't use a credit since the price was under $10 but I say that it was worth it! The Alpha & Omega Series is very good and this would be a great investment to go with the series, especially if you're a fan of Mercy Thompson which is a sister series to this one. It flows well and is an easy read, good adventure/ romance.
"Great start to the Alpha and Omega series"
One of my favorites
Holter Graham is so easy to listen to. His voice characters are individual and easy to follow. I will be checking into any other audiobooks he has done.
Wife to sometimes neglected husband (due to listening to audiobooks) and mother to adult children. I am a relatively recent avid reader/listener, only really starting to read for pleasure a few years ago but now am thoroughly addicted.
"Short but necessary prequel to series..."
This novella fills in how Anna and Charles met and comes before the events in Book 1 of the Alpah and Omega series (although this novella is not included on the series page it really should be). Initially I read book 1 before finding this novella after the fact and reading the print version. If you have read the Mercy Thompson Series, this series is related but it is not necessary to have read Mercy Thompson, as this series stands on it's own.
