Can learning another language be as easy as speaking your own? Yes - with Pimsleur it’s that easy. Learn on your own time, at your own pace, and wherever you choose. Phase 2 includes 15 hours of spoken language practice and one additional hour of reading instruction, and is designed to be used after completing Phase 1.
In the first 10 lessons of Phase 2, you begin to use the past tense. Structures become more complex and informal speech is introduced. Conversations become fuller, and learners are able to discuss business and social activities, manage shopping situations, and express their interests. As you progress, vocabulary is expanded and fluency increases.
The next 10 lessons of Phase 2 allow you to further combine and build upon known elements, and produce longer and more complex sentences. You learn to bargain with shopkeepers, deal with business situations, get and give medical information, and discuss the weather.
In the final 10 lessons of Phase 2, you’ve doubled your vocabulary and have several hundred structures to draw upon. You’ll gain experience asking for assistance, finding a location that is some distance away, and using relative structures – faster, slower, etc. Sports and leisure activities are explored, as well as shopping, changing money, and future travel plans. By the end of Phase 2, you’re speaking at a mid-intermediate level with near-native pronunciation, and you are comfortable meeting most social demands and limited job requirements.
Reading Lessons are included at the end of Unit 30. These 16 lessons (approximately one hour) are designed to give you practice reading Spanish, and to provide you with some insight into Spanish culture with proverbs, common expressions, and a broad look at things you’ll see when visiting a Spanish-speaking country. A Reading Booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

"It works!"
What did you love best about Spanish Phase 2, Units 1-30?I took Spanish for a few semesters in college, but never got to the point where I felt comfortable speaking it. After about a month of listening for 30 minutes a day, I can converse about a few different topics and use different verb tenses. The way the program introduces new information is just perfect. Listening to Pimsleur turns a long commute or housework into an opportunity to learn a new language.
Have you listened to any of Pimsleur’s other performances before? How does this one compare?Once I tried Pimsleur French at Phase 1. It moved a little too slowly and I got bored with it. I would recommend that if you have any background in a language, start with the last few units of Phase 1 or even at Phase 2.

"Great To Learn"
What made the experience of listening to Spanish Phase 2, Units 1-30 the most enjoyable?The overall learning that you will receive learning with Pimsleur is excellent. Don't get me wrong, there are some other good options out there, but this is an excellent option if you want to learn on the move and don't have the time to sit on a computer for the lessons.

Any additional comments?If you study for 30 minutes to an hour everyday your comprehension will become unbelievable. I find myself at times able to understand a great majority of the conversations I hear. Pimsleur does a great job with helping you learn the language you want, but it does take time and effort on your part. I'm now on Phase 3 and anxiously learning to get to phase 4.

"The best!"
Would you listen to Spanish Phase 2, Units 1-30 again? Why?30 min./day and you will learn a great foundation for speaking Spanish. This is the best approach.
