    "Pop pop Smith"

    I bourht this for my grandchildren. I am legally blind. I am unable to read to my babies, this was absolutely perfect for what i wanted it to do. Great narrotor, great music, and good sound effects.

    "Enjoyable, but..."

    Having grown up listening to Boris Karloff's beautiful narration, Matthau's reading seemed strangely flat. However, the story is still as enjoyable as ever - a timeless classic!

    "Great but..."

    Not quite as good as the book or movie. While still a fun listen, Walter Mathau's voice isn't as good as one might think or even expect for the character of the Grinch.

    "A Christmas Classic"

    While no one could tell this story quite like Boris Karloff, Walter Matthau does a nice job bringing the Grinch to life. My son loves listening to this one.

    "My kids love this story."

    I too grew up watching this on tv at Christmas and so to hear Walter Matthau narrate it doesn't sound right to me BUT my kids LOVE it. They have listened to it a hundred times I am sure.
    Great to put on at bedtime as it is only 12 minutes long.

    "Childhood favorite"

    This story always reminds me of my childhood and while Mr. Matthau dosen't read it the way my father did, his reading is enjoyable replacement.

    "Four year old listens intently"
    What did you love best about How the Grinch Stole Christmas?

    While babysitting my young nephews I realized I needed a hand keeping them close while cooking, but with no one available for backup, Audible jumped to mind. I purchased, downloaded and played in two minutes this book that I played over and over and finished dinner with everybody safe accounted for and happy!

    Yes and my daughter and I do play it over & over.. She is 5 and just loves it.

    Favorite Christmas Story

    A Christmas Carol because it is about a grumpy old grouch finally getting the Christmas Spirit.


    What does Walter Matthau bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Who better to play an old Grinch than a Grumpy Old Man?!


    Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Definitely, especially in front of the Christmas tree with some hot cocoa and cookies.
