"Truthiness intact"
Just another stop on his way to world domination. Mr. Colbert at his best.
"5 stars for the smart guy!"
i was glad to be able to get this at Audible, as Colbert's remarks had been so controversial. Well, he was his usual amazing, inciteful, smart self ... there are no ggod guys or bad guys at the Press Corps dinner, and his scathing humor was well balanced. Maybe over their heads?
"Colbert Pulls No Punches"
This is satire in top form. Faux-conservative Colbert, praises President George W. Bush with knee-slapping, back-handed compliments. He speaks truthiness to power; his jokes are funny and also add social commentary. A good snapshot of Stephen Colbert's fake punditry.
"Inteligent, funny and engaging - like Cobert"
His performance at the White House is hilarious.
I like his "I am America and so can you" because the jokes are great.
Cobert's performance is always great.
When he says that the President (Bush) governs by the gut and that reality has a known liberal bias.
"Colbert's speech-cutting and spot-on"
Yes. His O'Reilly-type buffoon character shows up Fox News and Right-wing political actors.
When he talked about knowing things in his gut.
It's not really a narration. It's just a recording of a speech.
Yes. Numerous times.
"I expected funnier"
The recording was good and the jokes were right on target, but I expected more.
"Hilarious"
and unbelievably bold. Worth it just for what he says about Bush.
"couldn't believe it"
I just had to hear for myself what Colbert had said at that dinner, and I found myself trying to laugh while my jaw was dropping. If you like his show, you'll want to hear what he said to the president!
Since becoming a mom, I can hardly find time to read. But my commute still creates time for audiobooks!
"Fantastic"
The most on-target satire I've heard in a long time. For those of us frustrated by the fascist tendencies of the current Republican government's behavior and justifications, it was very refreshing. I must admit, I've watched the video of this speech on Google almost a dozen times, and now I've listened to it on my mp3 player about as many times. It's that good. I've required all of my close friends and family to check it out.
"Bold but not as funny as expected"
It's surprising the shots that Colbert takes at Bush while Bush and his people are in the room but not as funny as I expected.
