The Many Sins of Lord Cameron: Highland Pleasures, Book 3

I love JA's work and the whole Highland Pleasures series has been great so far and this book is no exception. If you've listened to the other 2 books in the series then you know what to expect but if you haven't then what are you waiting for - put them in your cart NOW 'cause you don't want to miss this series.!!

As the blurb in the Publisher's Summary says, it's Cameron's turn to find love but the road to it never runs smoothly (that's why we love them isn't it) Cameron is the scarred brother who loves horses, drink, his son Daniel and of course women. He meets Ainsley (now a widow) again after years have passed since their first brief encounter in his bedroom when she was stealing a necklace.

This time there's an instant attraction between them but again, Cameron catches her in his bedroom desperately looking for something. Coupled with the blossoming romance you get the updates from Ian and Beth and Isabella and Mac and, of course, Daniel who is growing up fast.

I could go on about great characters, good plot, sexy Scottish rake etc., etc., etc., but, if you've listened to books 1 & 2, then you know all that and you know what to expect - a thoroughly enjoyable way to pass 9 hours.

Looking forward to Hart's story next in The Duke's Perfect Wife.

I loved both Ian and Mac's story. I didn't think Jennifer Ashley could write another 5star book. But she has. Cam story is sad, passionate and beautiful. Surpassed my expectations, and then some.
Angela Dawe's performance was superb! I want to read the next book, but I'm willing to wait to hear Dawe's beautiful interpretation.

Highly recommended!!! Every book in this series is exceptional.

Literally ( pardon the pun) #1!!

Cameron, has always been my favourite character, even since book one.

I love her voice, she's perfect.

This is a book, with real feeling. You can imagine yourself in this dysfunctional, but loving family. These 4 men take care of each other, as adults as they had as boys, due to the abusive house they grew up in.
This book is about Cameron, the 2nd oldest. who suffered abuse from his father and also his wife, who had tried to kill their baby son, before she killed herself, years earlier.
Cameron has meaningless affairs, because he believes he is not worthy of anything else, until he meets Ainsley.
Their story is beautiful and heart-warming.

This is one of the best series of books I have read. You will fall in love with these characters, and their families.
Don't miss out, you won't regret it.

When the first thing I think of when I remember an audiobook is how much I love the narrator, then I know the book was definitely missing something. A narrator makes or breaks a mediocre book. If the narrator is no better than the story they are telling, I lose all motivation to finish the book in any format. But if the book is good, the narrator makes no difference to me. If I don't like their voice, I put the audiobook down and pick up the ebook.

I finished this book. The narration was great, I love a couple of the secondary characters that were featured in previous books and put in brief appearances here. I didn't dislike the main characters. But they were characters desperately in need of a plot.

I got the feeling that since the first book in the series talked of 4 brothers, the author felt she had to devote a book to each, whether they warranted it or not.

There was no drama, no suspense, no climax, no heartfelt emotion, no plot. And it didn't seem to know how to end. So it petered out the last quarter of the book, until it just kind of disappeared. The book could have been telling the story of the courtship and marriage of any couple, no matter how ordinary, mundane and dull it was.

I am going on the assumption that The Madness of Lord Ian Makenzie was a fluke. It would have stood much better on its own. I think there is a lesson to be learned here. Yes, book series can be entertaining for the reader and incredibly profitable for the author. But that doesn't mean that every book deserves a sequel, no matter how good the book is.

I will read the last in the series, because I am hoping for more than a glimpse of Ian and Beth. And there are a couple of questions raised back in the first book, I am hoping the next book will answer.

Jennifer Ashley has written such an amazing series. Each book has been very different but all of them very well written. The first book in the series The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie was one of the best books I've ever read in my life and made me fall in love with Ian. I was sure no other book could come close to that one. The second book was just ok. But then I listened to this one and I fell in love all over again. This time with Cameron. I had an impression he was a selfish ass who did not care for his son and only lived for his carnal pleasures. Well I was wrong. Very very wrong. Cameron didn't really have that many sins. He was just a very hurt, betrayed and traumatized man. And I love his journey and his change. Ainsley put the pieces of his heart back together little by little. And she was such a good woman. Just an honest, lovable, good woman.

I loved every character on this story. I loved how romantic and sizzling hot the main relationship was. I loved how the other couples were incorporated into the story and to know how they are doing. I loved how the next story was introduced (Hart and Eleanor). I loved the freaking horse Jasmine. I loved Cam's son Daniel. I even loved Angelo the gypsie. Yeah, I pretty much loved every second of this story.

Narration: Angela Dawe did a great job with the story. I gave up trying to hear a british or Scottish accent but other than that the narration was passionate, intense and nearly perfect. Worth a credit? Abso-freaking-lutly!!!

I did whisper-sync for the first time and I have to admit I missed the narration. It's that good.

This is the third book in the Mackenzie Family/ highland pleasures series. I started with the first one and liked the family so much I wanted them to all get their HEA. I'm on the last one now.

I think the great thing about the narrator is that she creates good varied voices for the characters. In the series? I'd have to say Isabella from the second book.

It's my listen to while working book so I saved it for those days and times. Although several times I was listening on the way home and had to set the "stop at chapter end" on my iPhone app to keep from listening all night.

I would read another book by Jennifer Ashley simply because they are such easy reads. No need to concentrate. Her first in the series about Lord Ian was by far the most interesting. They're books to escape with though and aren't especially believable. As for Angela Dawe her skills as a narrator are limited. All of her voices sound entirely too similar. It's even hard to tell between her male and female characters.

I wouldn't change a thing. This was a nice easy listen and I got exactly what I expected.

A pleasant read with a happy ending.

I read the first two books in this series and was very impressed with the authors ability to write stories of real people with real problems but I was mildly unimpressed with this book. The story felt weak and contradictory. Cameron is a strong gruff man that women want to love and men fear. His strong virile persona is sorely tempted when he meets Ainsley Douglas snooping around in his room. I enjoyed the beginning of the book, the sexual play and dominance of Cam's character was exciting and sexy but as the story goes on we learn about his first marriage and the abuse he suffered at his wife's hand. In a day when men could have a wife committed to an asylum for almost no reason at all, I found it hard to believe that a man would let a woman burn him over and over with a cigar just to protect his child. I also found it hard to believe that a man would let a women beat him not once but twice with a poker. The female character is suppose to be strong willed and self sufficient but she too comes off as kind of stupid when she is duped into attending an orgy while trying to retrieve the queens letters. I also found other parts of the plot thin, although the author struggles to be true to the characters she has invented, she is constantly fading in and out. At times the story line became so thin I almost gave up on it but I stuck through it to the end and was mild appeased. Its not totally unreadable but in my opinion its not as good as the other books in this series.

This book was just as great as the previous two. I love the brothers. They each have a dark background but still have the ability to love. Romance!! I have already started on the four book. I'm lovin' it!

I love the entire series! Can't wait for the next brother to find love.
