Sticks and Stones

Not sure if this was a sequel, per se, but the continuing adventures of Ty and Zane allowed the reader to pick up the story and continue on the journey of self-discovery and self-realization of the two characters. Abigail Roux and Madeleine Urban did a good job relating the story, though I must admit I was bit disappointed at how long it took the characters to realize their truth...if they even did, which is where the disappointment came in. Despite that, the characters of the book were entertaining and engaging...I loved the 'grandpa' character...heck, loved all of Ty's family. Sawyer Allerde narration was spot-on and added to the tale. Though maybe not as good as Cut and Run, it was still a great continuation to the story of these interesting characters.

I fell in love with Ty & Zane's story in Cut & Run. Sticks & Stones gave a natural progression of their relationship. I am still wanting more of their story. I think there is more to be said . . . but I can live with what I have. I have listened to Cut & Run twice and just finished the first listen of Sticks & Stones. Urban & Roux have hit a homerun with these stories by making the characters REAL WORLD real. Some men never say "I Love You" to each other but that doesn't mean they don't feel the emotion. And, two tough FBI agents are a perfect example of that!

I have just finished listening to this right after listening to the previousl book in the serious "Cut & Run".

I was very frustrated throughout this book - not by narrative but at the stupidity of the two main characters to not just say what they really felt about each other. That's a good thing for me to say though as I really cared for them and wanted they to simply admit that their relationship is far more than either was wanting to admit.

The setting for the story is good as they are in a way on a journey and having it set against a case like Cut & Run was would just not have worked.

I'm looking forward to the third in the series and hope Audible will carry it soon.

A shovel and a cougar! OMG! The grandpa actually sharpens the shovel and everyone in the family think this is normal...

Ty and Zane are back, and I love how Zane phsyco-ness is shown through in this book. Zane is really just as crazy as Ty is but he is more undercover with his... He is like a closet physco! I love when you meet all of Ty's family and they are all kinda crazy in their own way just like Ty, but they totally repect thier dad to no end... That is just a country thing... I get that. But what tip the cake for me in the book was the cougar... OMG! Out of all people you just know, Ty is gonna get eaten by a cougar up in the mts... SO funny... This was like the worst vaction ever... but it was supposed to be a vacation to help the two crazy FBI agents get back on track b/c they are failing their phy-evals.

And the wood smex! SUPER HOT!!! I kinda want to see Ty do what he do too!!!!! To bad it was soo dark out there...

Narration was just as good as book one... Great job..

I really do loved the two main characters, Ty and Zane. It really is tiring listening to the flurry of 'wryly, wearily, sarcastically, wearily." Someone should edit these a bit.

Second book of the American BL featuring the "odd couple" FBI agents. At the end of the first book, they figured out that what they have is not temporary but has a potential for something more. In this book, they take a vacation which turns out to be a vacation from hell in the mountains of W. Virginia.

The characters are more established in this story and we get to see the two main characters(Ty and Zane) realizing what they mean to each under terrible situation. In short, in fanfic term, the main characters find that they love each other through angst and hurt/comfort... I really liked Ty's brother and came close to hating his father.

Too bad they only have this and the first book in audiobook! Another fun read.

Having fallen hard for Ty and Zane in Cut & Run, I couldn't wait to pick up where things left off with these two. The authors did NOT disappoint. The character development is so rich, especially by letting us meet Ty's family. It drives the story forward instead of slowing it down. I will never look at a shovel the same way again. LOL! Once again, the authors have created the perfect combination of drama, sexual tension, and humor. I love being immersed in the world they've created. Ty and Zane will stay with me for a very, very long time.

I didn't like the narrator on the first book, and it's the same guy on this one, BUT after listening to the others (they switched narrators), I love him. He's way better than the guy on 3/4.

I loved this listen. It's a truly great follow-up to "Cut and Run".
Ty and Zane both have their flaws (which just makes them more wonderful as characters) and they struggle with their scars and insecurities as well as their relationship with each other – both not sure how to handle these feelings.

I rather liked that it wasn't another case-story immediately after the first book. With a case like the Poe serial killer it's understandable that the guys would be a bit too scarred to be able to work properly so soon.
Meeting Ty's family was interesting and a lot of fun. It was nice to follow Zane's new insights about his partner.

The book is about a journey – both of the body and the mind I would say.

I love how Ty and Zane feels very "real" in how they feel and deal with their relationship.

Narrator is the same as in the first book. I don't know if he was actually better in this one or if I've just gotten completely used to him by now but I really enjoyed his narration of this book *smile*

oh, in my book about an 8. I paid money for it and would listen to it again, so it was pretty good.

I really enjoy the wit of the characters the most. How Ty's brother calls him "meow mix" after he is attacked by a mountain lion. just family type banter, makes it seem so real life and not so much a story.

I swear who picks the narrators? I just knew he was gonna say "hey bo bo lets go get some pick in nick baskets" LOL ROTFL Then he has a "jimmy stewart" voice, I nearly cracked up getting used to it in the first book and it wasnt any better in this one. If you can get past that, you have a really good book with a nice story to it. Id read more by these authors, and hope they keep the NEW narrator as in the 3rd book and keep getting the rest of this series. I dont want to miss anything. I checked their web site and there is 2 more books so far in the series.

Zane definitely, yeah, I like the bad boy type. But then again I dig men in uniform too, so Ty would be next. With their proclivities, we could just have a 3-some, they have both done women before. Hmmmmmm sounds yummy, I guess I could just watch........yep sick but hey Im way to straight and my real life ex ....he has a husband now.....and I have a new husband, and think that my ex's man is hot. (he likes bad boys too, no wonder we stayed friends for the past 21 yrs of our divorce)

Laugh at the narrator, block him as best you can and enjoy the story, it really is good and worth the money or credit, but you must like M/M or this book is not for you. The third book is good and the narrator is really good. C'mon, you can make it, you know you want to.
